Sometimes after doing some A-G work, and going back to A-A ACM mode, I can select my A-A missiles (SW/SP/PH), I can hear the Aim9 growl but there is no moving diamond after I select VSL Hi/Lo or PAL. What am I missing? If I just do A-A at mission start, it's fine, the diamond is there. But after messing around with some A-G, it no longer appears when I go back to A-A ACM mode. Is there something the RIO did that I need to undo? Thks

Can't imagine it's a bug since it's been a number of months since release. But I still can't figure out why it happens.

Missing Diamond in VSL Hi/Lo & PAL Mode

Thank you for the report. Is there a more specific way how one could reproduce this? What did you do in a2g, what bombs did you drop in what mode? How often does it happen? What are your specs? Do you have any tracks or logs? Does it happen with different missions, loadouts, targets, release mods etc, or always different?

If you can answer any of these questions that would help us a lot to try and reproduce it. Thank you!

Me too missing moving diamond (stable version) worked before but since 2 or 3 weeks in a sudden not anymore. Thats strange because I did´t change anything.

Make sure you're not in the Cruise HUD mode. It looks extremely similar to A/A when you don't have a Target selected, shows type and number of weapons selected, but doesn't give any sensor or cueing info. This has caught me out more than once, easiest way to tell us if you have a heading tape at the top of your HUD instead of the aircraft datum cross

Hi, when gun selected the diamond is not moving in what ever ACM lock mode.

Is that true on the real F14?

And sometimes there's a lead cue on the hud when missiles are selected, but most of the time the lead cue only shows on VID. Is there a bug or is there anything I need to do to display the lead cue on hud in AA mode?

Thanks!

No, you don't have to undo anything on that regard.

For me at the least (even after selecting A-G mode), with this last friday open-beta it's like always was:

- the VSL Hi mode never had the moving diamond at the HUD, as I believe its tracking pattern is from 15 to 55 degrees, which is outside of the HUD's field of view;

- the VSL Lo and PAL modes always have shown the moving diamond tracking pattern, for all the A-A missiles, either in ACM or Normal modes.

I believe that with Gun selected, the diamond symbol isn't supposed to show any tracking pattern.

Because without any Radar tracked target, the diamond will be representing bullet hit point at 1.000 feet distance.
