Habu_69 Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 With my VR headset on I find it pretty easy to fumble around my "cockpit" and somehow lose window focus on DCS. I have yet to discover a way to restore focus to the DCS window when that happens. What is the secret??

MilesD Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 I thought you had PointCTRL? If the cursor limits are set properly there is no way to click out of the window. FragBum Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 Yes the gotcha is normally there is another application over the top of the DCS screen which you can't see in VR obviously. To help prevent loosing focus on the DCS window in settings -> VR tick the "cursor confined to game window" I have had occasion even with the cursor confined to game window checked I have lost focus on DCS and ending up clicking on another app which may stop DCS responding to input until focus is applied back to DCS by clicking on it's window. Control is an illusion which usually shatters at the least expected moment. Gazelle Mini-gun version is endorphins with rotors. See above. Brun Posted November 24, 2019 Posted November 24, 2019 Hit alt+return after dcs launches to make it full-screen and you shouldn't lose focus. Asus Z690 Hero | 12900K | 64GB G.Skill 6000 | 4090FE | Reverb G2 | VPC MongoosT-50CM2 + TM Grips | Winwing Orion2 Throttle | MFG Crosswind Pedals
Habu_69 Posted November 27, 2019 Author Posted November 27, 2019 @ MilesD. PtControl works great, but I still sometimes use the mouse. @Brun. I use PtControl Finger Control Units, which are currently calibrated for DCS Windowed mode. Windowed mode has advantages when DCS is enhanced with auxiliary programs like SRS, Voice Attack, VR Kneeboard, which occasionally need focus. Perhaps I will experiment with Full Screen and see how it goes. Is there a key command to switch from Full Screen back to Window mode?
Harlikwin Posted November 27, 2019 Posted November 27, 2019 I thought you had PointCTRL? If the cursor limits are set properly there is no way to click out of the window. Miles, One minor point on that. For whatever reason my "mirror screen" doesn't cover the lower windows toolbar and I can "click out" of DCS using point control using that. Maybe I need to recalibrate it, but at the same time I think its happened like twice so not a major issue anyway. New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TWC_Alamo Posted November 28, 2019 Posted November 28, 2019 I have on my "todolist" a task to explore if it is possible to have VOICE ATTACK to send a command to Windows to reset focus on DCS. I also use Miles' PointCTRL system and that does help a lot, but you can still inadvertently bump the mouse. Habu_69 Posted November 29, 2019 Author Posted November 29, 2019 Might be possible to use VA to move mouse cursor to a "safe" monitor screen location on DCS window, then left-click.

While you could narrow up the cursor limit box, you would lose some pointing area. I have had my windows task bar on the left side of the screen even prior to PointCTRL. When it was at the bottom, when I would click items on the lower part of the multiplayer screen it would activate the task bar and I would lose focus. Thanks for bringing that up, I should put that in the videos and instructions to move your task bar to left in windowed mode. Miles P.S. @ TWC Alamo, I have to work pretty hard to click outside the window with the standard mouse when "keep mouse confined to cursor window" is checked. Do you have that checked?
