So I'm using the first skin I've ever downloaded and installed, (ILANG Skins) and I want 87-296 to be my default skin now when I do an Instant Action mission, Quick Mission, etc. I know how to select the skin in Mission Editor, but how do I use the skin for everything else?

Thanks in Advance,

Pmedic

Hi Pmedic. If you start from the ground in those missions you can change the skin using the arm/rearm menu. If you start from the air you will have to manually edit the mission to set that skin for the plane. Unfortunately there is no setting in the sim that I know of that allows you to set a default skin.

Hope that helps.

Go to where you installed your favourite livery, and open Destription.lua with Notepad or Notepad++ .

Go to the last line in there: it will say "name = " followed by how that livery is called.

To make it default for IA missions etc just add a zero in front of that name, for example:

name = "00_Belgian F-16 10W FA1363"

Since liveries are loaded in alphabetical order, adding the "00_" ensures it will always be first on the list.

Obviously this only works if no specific livery has been selected by whomever made the mission, but since we don't have any official livery for the Falcon yet, the mission editor displays a blank field next to the livery selection, so this trick works.

Once we do have an official livery, and the one in ED who makes the IA missions decides upon a specific livery to use from the list of official ones, the only way to use your own as default is by editing each mission and changing the to be loaded livery there.
