[FIXING] RWR not giving Nails (MP).

RWR is not giving nails or spikes from Ground based SAMS, Ship bases SAMS. Tested in MP with no SPJ and with SPJ. SAMS will track and fire, giving no RWR warning, missile warning etc.

Tested a bit more thoroughly and with more detail (track file).

 

Edit- I get spikes from ground based SAMs and launch warnings from SAMs in MP.

 

I am client, Aqua is host.

No SPJ pod.

 

Head on passes below. Will test more scenarios soon.

 

JF-17 - SD-10 Paints, no hardspike, missile warning once active

M2k - Matra 530D Paints, no hardspike, no launch warning (semi-active, so no active warning)

F-16 - AIM-120C Paints, no hardspike, missile warning once active

F-15 - Aim-120C Paints, no hardspike, missile warning once active

F-18 - Aim-120C Paints, no hardspike, missile warning once active

Tested in SP against SA8 and MIG29A, with and without SPJ.

 

The RWR reported both threats (detected, tracking and firing) with no issues.

 

 

In MP, RWR displayed an SA6 (search,track,launch) as expected

 

However, was engaged by an SU27 with no RWR warning (search,launch or track). Missile was detected as it went past the jet. It is possible that the AI used IRST to engage.

A great many people reporting the RWR not working right online. Betty seems to work though or at least partly work. I got tracking calls online, but nothing on RWR, just (tracking tracking). Same for "Missile missile" and that showed up on the aft quarter MAWS at least.

Thanks for the report.

 

For accurate locating the problem, could U plz explain the exact behavior "no RWR warning" is :

1. HSD not showing red flashing symbol?

2. HUD not showing MSL LCH or Missile (Head on aspect)?

3. No sound indication through the headset (high pitch tone of beeping)?

Ran through some additional tests after swapping roles. Noticed he (the forum poster) said he got no warnings from sams so also tested.

 

No SPJ pod.

 

SAM tests.

Hawk (Host/Client) SAM sites give locking and launch warnings

SA-15 (Host) SAM sites give locking/launch warnings

S300 (Host/Client) SAM sites give locking/launch warnings

 

Everything is working as expected above ^

F-15- (Client) gets launch/lock warnings

JF-17- (Host) paints, no lock warning, missile warning once active (not MAWS)

 

F-16 vs JF-17 (120B)

F-16 (Client) gets launch/lock warnings

JF-17 (Host) paints, no lock warnings, missile warnings once active (not MAWS)

 

JF-17 vs JF-17 (opposite teams) (SD-10)

JF-17 (Client) paints, missile warning once active

JF-17 (Host) paints, missile warning once active

 

M2k vs JF-17 (530D)

M2k (Client) gets launch/lcok warnings

JF-17 (Host) paints, no lock/launch warnings, MAWs picked up missile after missile missed

 

Su-27 vs JF-17 (R-27)

27 (Client) gets launh/lock warnings

JF-17 (Host) paints, no warnings

 

F-14 vs JF-17 (Sparrows/54s)

F14 (Client) gets launch/lock warnings

JF-17 (Host) paints, no luanch/lock/active warnings (tested Aim-7 and 54)

 

Additional details, what is happening, JF-17 gets painted (basic yellow aircraft radar indication on HSD) and once missile is active, {120} shows up (or similar) with MSL MSL warning on HUD and audio.

 

No other information is provided by the RWR. No locking audio tone/contact switching from yellow to red, followed by "tracking" audio tones, and no MSL launch warning on hud, launch audio notification, or flashing of RWR contact to indicate launch.

 

JF-17 does not appear to be receiving information indicating certain stages of air to air combat for its RWR in multiplayer. Though, while it is not receiving information, it is transmitting necessary information for all aircraft (other than JF-17s) to allow their RWRs to work normally and as expected.

Before the patch at least the a2g threads worked and just all player controlled planes did nothing what was supposed to be fixed asap at release some weeks ago.

Now a2g threads don't work aswell in multiplayer.

I'd also like to add my experience in PVP too.

 

Not only have I not received 'tracking' calls(the well known MP bug), I now do not receive RWR aircraft type even though they have me on their radar, nor MAWS warnings. Which are new bugs in this patch for me.

 

The 'RWR aircraft type not showing' bug seems to happen to certain aircraft only. I have not seen [14] yet, and occasionally for [15] as well.

 

Picture attached is an engagement against a F-14. Of course I didn't know it was a F-14 then because the only available info was from my own radar. I assumed it was an F-15/18, so I started cranking at ~40nm, the only warning that I had was a big boom that killed me. No other warnings no nothing, just went from that picture to a big boom.

Calm down...they are working their asses off and they fixed a tone of bugs in two weeks since release - more than any module has received in two years

 

We all like the module and I assume you to so be patient and the next patch will be golden

F-14s and aim-54s still don't show up most of the time (MP), maybe problem not only with f-14, but also all other aircraft.

Rwr, CMS working fine with the following trick :

 

After engine on load DTC and unload. Ask ground crew to update then load it up again. It works for me (tested it on MP)

Seems like this should be the default drill in MP for now as it also fixes the bug where F10 waypoints won't load.

Do you see F-14 tho? I've been using this trick since the big update on wednesday, never have I once seen an [14] icon, sometimes no [15] too, [18] seems fine most of the time tho. (Everything in PVP)

Yes, tried to fly in GS server and got 14, 15, 16, 18 on HSD. Also got tracking and missile warning.

And that's every single flight that you've flown? My friends and I only have a 1/3 chance that it will work. It's like a lucky draw every time we start it up.:(

I guess so. I also tried it on 104th server and got 14 nail

By unload you mean eject DTC? Or is there actual function that unloads stuff loaded into the plane computer? Do you update DTC before loading it for the first time(if your change your weapons)?

1)After start up, insert the DTC and upload its data to the aircraft via LMFD

2)Eject DTC, re-arm and update your DTC with the crew

3)Insert DTC and upload again

After further testing on PvP I must say the RWR worked inconsistently even after DTC tricks. Its like the Jeff is half deaf. Under unknown condition it worked, other time in the same flight sortie it didnt.

It's specially gets worse after playing for some time.

This thread should be moved back to bugs section.
