I have been using a button box rotary encoder with a push button for a mouse using VR. It works pretty well, press the button, the cursor shows up and I look around and can press a switch or rotate a knob by rotating the encoder. Pretty immersive.

My only issue is when I press the button to get the mouse cursor up it is most often over to the right and not centred to my view, so I have to use the mouse to drag the cursor to the centre - not so immersive.

Is there any way to centre the mouse cursor to where I am looking?

If you’re using VoiceAttack, you can program the button to center the cursor, or place it anyplace you like.

If I turn mouse off then I get a cursor whenever I move my head, which I don't want. The simple answer seems to be to centre the mouse as soon as I enter the cockpit, I think it is just left at the "Fly" button position bottom right. I just wondered if there was a button push to centre it.

Thanks. Your suggestion made me think to check if I could do it in Joy2key which I already use and it can! Under Advanced mouse settings for a button.

I am struggling with the same issue. I center it when I start DCS but in flight I use the F10 map etc. and it ends up off to one side or the other so when I need it again in the cockpit I need to reach to my mouse to get it back to the center. Is there some way to program a button to return it to the center of even better would be in the center Left/Right and about 1/3 up from the bottom of the view (don't need to break you neck to get to those low back switches :)

Hi Grumpy. I use for center and wakeup cursor in cockpit during VR flight voiceattack program. You can bind cursor coordinates under joystick button. I bind two diferent positions  under one button, becpuse i need "move" cursor for wakeup.

@Baldrick33 pointed me at joy2key to do almost this exact thing, it took a bit of jiggling but I can now slew my mouse cursor around using the warthog throttle slew + modifier.  The cursor is slaved to the headset but I can alter its resting position using the slew+modifier; mouse button controls are bound to the warthog CMS switch + modifier.

I needed to bind the slew axis + modifier in DCS to be a redundant axis (zoom commands I think I used) to stop it slewing the TGP/shkval when I moved the mouse.

If anyone is interested AND using JoystickGremlin I've made with help of chatGPT a plugin for the program to center the mouse.
I've tried many other ways of secondary programs (mousetoVjoy), powershell scripts, all failed. This one is working like a charm.

You add a plugin from a tab with +, run with the gear, set a button. Done.

Pure gold. Many thanks for this. Hunting for the stupid mouse cursor has been one of the most annoying and fun-spoiling things about DCS for me and this plug in is making it at least tolerable.

You can do it with Joy2Key. You can set the joystick button to center mouse position and you can set the "center" anywhere you like
