I'm playing a training mission at Nevada and notice when I fire a Phoenix, everything outside the cockpit loses focus and looks like IPD is increasing of not greater parallax but just outside the cockpit. Cockpit itself looks clear. Anyone else see anything like this?

Doesn't do it on Hornet when I fire an AMRAAM. Need to test if it does with a Sparrow from the Cat....

Never saw anything like that and i have specific missions, both in Nevada and Caucasus, made just for BVR Phoenix employment. Can you post a screenshot or a video?

Don't think it's the Phoenix but closing in on enemy aircraft actually. It doesn't do it when I try to practice refueling at the first waypoint, but seems to around the enemies I have at Waypoints 2 & 3. After the Phoenixes downed 2 x Mig 21s at Waypoint 2, I then switched to Sparrows and guns and I had two aiming crosses, the symbology was overlapped, etc. Then I went to another waypoint where there are some low SU-25's and noticed it started happening again. Was all out of Phoenixes, going right about Mach 1 and was getting ready to use Sparrows but Jester kept losing the lock and then I couldn't find them anymore. Clouds were doubled and noticed everything appeared to be going black & white except a narrow band of focus in the center but wasn't pulling hard G's or anything. It didn't seem to a larger VR issue since going to F2 external or F3 flyby didn't show any of that, just in the cockpit.

Tried to take screenshots but apparently the directory wasn't set in Steam. I fixed that now so may try again. I saved the Track but hear that has issues, though didn't try just now. If that doesn't work will need to fly it again.

Not sure what it's doing with screenshots... they show up in my Steam Library but not in the designated folder.

You can see what it's doing, though kinda low resolution... I had to do a Print Screen and then paste to Paint to get these here.

Almost like I'm blacking out or something but can't think of why it should be doing that. Not pulling any G's or anything... these shots don't seem to show the double vision.

Looks like hypoxia, check oxygen supply.

That would be interesting. I think I did see about turning on oxygen in the manual but didn't come up in assisted startup with Jester, so more than possible. Thanks!

Yep look like hypoxia. Also get into it. Looks like bad look make firing the weapon and starting hypoxia syndroms at the same time. :D

Problem solved! I bet doctors from 30 years ago would love to have the tools we have for diagnosis today :D

Don’t feel bad, I made this mistake too. Forgot the O2 switch on startup.

I'm thinking Jester should either mention that after the canopy comes down (or before)... or laugh at me when we're taxiing by asking if I want to breathe or not.

But how should Jester know?

If there just was a keybind for this. I do this prep in the Hornet with some keys, but I can't in the Tomcat. Plus the button is hidden and even harder to catch in VR. Especially in case of having forgotten to flick it, this would make it a lot easier to correct.

Jester wouldn't know if I did that or not, I guess but arguably should he a step on Assisted Startup.

Oddly, i never seams to have forgotten this one. It's probably the first thing i do when i materialize in the pit.

I won't forget now! lol. Of course, I've done it enough that I won't be doing Assisted Startup that much longer, either.

I don’t really remember that much because I rarely do cold start in this bird. Can’t really do it on a boat because you’ll slide to the bow waiting for INS to align. I rarely takeoff from a field because, hey, what’s the fun in that? I really wish HB would fix that. Most of the time it’s “hot ramp” for me. Simply because it’s the closest I can get to taxiing to a catapult without crashing on the ship.

Oh well.

My training missions in Nevada are always cold start and landing for practice with some various air and ground targets in between. Making a campaign out of it. Have Nevada 101 without any weapons. 102, with some different waypoints and some cannon ammunition, 201 with solo and no weapons and aerial refueling practice. 202 with a wingman. 301 solo with easy air to air (MiG-21). 302 wingman air to air.

Planning 330 with ground targets and 350 with multiple air and ground targets with full 400 & 450 with a combination starting with half fuel and 500 with 1/3 fuel and MiG-29 and SU-27 replacing the MiG-21 and SU-25's.

For fun I've set up a mission ready on the cats with some SU-27 and SU-33 floating around but probably won't get serious with the missions until the Supercarrier and/or Forrestal is out (and by then I'll be brave enough to try something other than the Instant Action Case I trap.
