The skycolors seem to be too dark even on low altitudes, when you are looking up at high angles. Maybe the Rayleigh scattering of the atmosphere needs some rework in DCS. It would certainly make dogfights easier, if we do not loose our targets against the dark blue sky so easily. Currently I have set my gamma value at max to see bandits above me.

Funny to see this request, as to me the sky (or in fact the entire world, except for inside the cockpit) has always felt to be too bright.

Depending on which module I fly (which cockpit). I have gamma set at somewhere between 1.4 and 2.2.

Interesting to see that we don't share, or even have opposite opinions on this matter, but for me, this is a:

-1 :P

Overall experience will probably be highly dependant on the type of monitor/HMD one uses. I fly VR (cv1) only.

-1 : the sky color is correct

btw: there are plans to make additional effects and LODs of aircraft visuals in future to make it more realistic - not to make anything "easier".

Difficult one for me... lighting improvements are coming, as is improved weather - otherwise I think the sky is accurate, I simply don't see anything wrong with it. Once we get improved clouds, cloud types and layers I think things will be better.

I think the entire atmosphere/lighting could use a rework, some things like color/contrast seem off.

Yes, and in addition to that I think the enivronment should have an increases blue tone dependent on how much bright blue sky is available. In real life the light from the blue sky makes the ground look more blue-ish. I have found a workaround to get that blue-ish tone with ReShade, which makes DCS look better during day (not at night of course).
