F/A-18C DDI Dimensions

Hi All,

 

Pretty simple ask it does anyone know what the size of the Hornet’s DDI is? I’m looking to 3D print my own DDI but would like to know the dimensions.

 

I’ve checked OpenHornet’s DDI size and that differs from the DDIs that PCFlights offers so I’m a little confused

 

Also, I have a feeling that TM Cougar MFDs are a little too small and aren’t the right sizing for the F18?

It's 5x5" CRT. And I bet your buttom dollar, someone on this forum already published real DDI bezel dims as well. If I'll find em I let you know.

Since it's not easy to find any 5by5 display, no matter CRT or LCD, just fit it with the display device you have......

 

For my case, i fit it with a 8 inch 4:3 display panel.

I can't attest to the accuracy of these, nor I have printed them, but they might be a starting point, especially if you are going for a "VR braille" cockpit.

F/A-18C DDI Dimensions

 

Deadman made these for me and put them up on his Shapeways shop. Not a cheap print, but they are accurately sized and use readily available switches. Switch, rotary and potentiometers used are listed on site. The knobs were trials and have since been replaced.

Thanks Deadman, since my post I found those.

 

I was hoping to get something around the 9inch mark if bothering to go to all this hassle. Also $150 is pretty expensive compared to similar sized LCD (of the wrong ratio!)
