In that other sim, the aerial tanker will give a heads up when about to turn.

Are we liable to ever see this in DCSW?

Thanks.

In my experience, the tanker does give you a warning, it tips it's wings a bit before making it's turn. No radio call, you have to watch for the "wing wave".

The mission designer could easily add such a warning to his mission, with a trigger zone just before each waypoint.

Yep, and I saw that technique in an old tactical formation training video from the vietnam era - the flight lead rolls into the turn direction, rolls out, then turns. I dunno what they do IRL for tanking.

IRL, the tanker just slowly rolls into the turn. No warning required or needed. If the pilot is correctly flying formation, he/she simply maintains formation. The key is the rate of the roll by the tanker. If initially very gentle and slow, the pilot might not even know they are turning. Just fly formation.

This. Formation calls are only done in aerobatic teams. I've never needed warnings to maintain formation with the tanker or a flight lead.
