Looking down left/right: Constantly loosing tracking

Recommended Posts

WMR with Odyssey Plus.

Any time I look down and to the left/right, say in the F-16 trying to access the test panel, exterior lights panel, or INS/avionics panel, my tracking goes nuts and flashes between where I'm looking, straight up into the sky, and straight back into the seat's headrest, then back to where I'm looking. It's interfering with my ability to click switches and really starting to piss me off.

How do I keep it from flipping out?

To paraphrase Nephilim's post , inside-out tracking cameras need two things .

Light

Something to track

Only the specificity of your problem prevents me from thinking of a usb power problem as well .

Room is well lit. Since I'm looking down when this happens the only thing the sensors would see is the floor.

It also seems to be linked to what I'm wearing. Last night it was downright awful when I tried playing while wearing a dark hoodie. When I tried in just my T-shirt the tracking worked better, for some reason.

I'm having same issue when looking to my right. So I added a small lamp to my right just in case it was a lighting issue, but that didn't really help. When I return to center position, my view is offset. If I turn to my left tracking is fine and that actually re-centers my position back to center. It only happens when in cockpits though. I'm only flying the Hornet & Viper atm.

Do you notice one cockpit being worse than the others? For me the Viper seems to have it the worst. When flying the Tomcat I almost never have tracking issues.

I really only fly the Tomcat, Viper, & Hornet. I have noticed that the Viper is more sensitive. I don't know what else to do with lighting. I added a lamp to my right side and even removed the shade, but I still have tracking issues.

I'm in Reverb and have a wall directly to my right. I have the same issue. I can't even check my six on the right side without losing tracking. I tried spot lights, tape on the walls etc. It's infuriating.

I can't wait for a successor to the Reverb for this reason. Tried Rift S and tracking was perfect with more cameras. Unfortunately the clarity wasn't good enough though.

I think either my Reverb may be going bad, which is my second one, or WMR is bugged. I have to attempted to open WMR multiple times to get it to run. Also, it crashes explorer. Whatever is happening is annoying as hell.
