Hi, what is the max. speed that the tires are limited to? I landed at ~200, and tires popped

Ah, because of the slats setting, or? Is it true, pilot has to always manually enable+disable slats? (in MiG-29 it's automatic for example)

200 knots is damn fast for a landing, more of a controlled crash at that speed!

Yeah you have to manually lower flap using the TEF switch.

Gear down, Flaps down, Air Brake out is the proper landing config for a light JF-17 (<2500lbs fuel, no stores/2 wingtip PL-5)

If you're coming in heavy, Speed brake should be in during descent, out when touched down.

Always aerobrake, pop chute below 130 if needed.

Touchdown speed should be around 150-160 heavy, 130-140 light.

ah yep, made sense, just was surprised it's named "TEF" instead of simply and logically "flaps".

Well, TEF is "trailing edge flaps", which is what you deploy manually. That's a perfectly normal abbreviation .

Ah okay, only wondered because I thought no other aircraft manufacturer uses the term "trailing edge flaps". (as there's only one kind of "flaps" on aircraft anyways, or not? I know slats are the one in front)

Try not exceeding 195kts and not braking at high wheel speeds.

BTW the term 'TEF' and 'LEF' are also seen in F-16 and F-18 manuals (T.O. Dash-1 and NFMs). While I have not seen the term 'slat' being used in those manuals. Technically speaking slats are different from LEFs.

The ones in the front may or may not be Slats or LEF - leading edge flaps, which are two different things.
