DmitriKozlowsky Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Aside from flipping switch to radar altimeter, is there something else that needs to be switched ON. I get blinking B (barometric) on HUD.
MadCat1381 Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 You need to turn on the Radar Altimeter itself on the gauge by turning the knob clockwise. The gauge is on the right side, near the hook handle. And you need to be below 5000ft AGL for the radar alt to display anything.
norman99 Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 And be right side up. The antenna and receiver are underneath the aircraft, so you'll loose radar ALT when banked beyond a certain angle.
Nealius Posted May 27, 2020 Posted May 27, 2020 Radar altimeter also doesn't work when spawned on an elevator. You'll get 70B. Once you taxi away from the elevator it will show 0.

It will flash B (indicating it's using Barometric rather than Radar) when you are out of parameters and switch is set to Radar (i.e. over 5000 ft or if you are in a hard bank may show this because it shoots from underside of aircraft and in a bank it may be looking at the horizon rather than the ground)
FightsOn Posted May 28, 2020 Posted May 28, 2020 You should also be able to double click the A/P push button to access the "soft" altitude bugs in addition to the "hard" bug on the dial. That doesn't appear to be simulated though.

That doesn't appear to be simulated though. That would be so much nicer than going to HSI > Data > BAlt/RAlt buttons > UFC!
