Hello Friends,

 

after installing the latest update DCS/2.5.6.49798 Stable Ver. some 3rd party addons , like civilian objects, are not working anymore and it cant load the textures anymore from the users/ect... file where we were supposed to add all the addons in DCS. The game locks up and crashes after trying to use the editor and load one of the objects. The logfile referrs to that it cant load or find the shaders and it looks like this :

Now i've updated and reinstalled all my drivers and tried the repair option from DCS but the results are the same.

Does any of you have this same issue ?

2.5.6 made many older custom mods non-compatible, there were numerous threads about it back when 2.5.6 was introduced in Open Beta. The only thing you can do is remove all unofficial mods (remember that repair and cleanup function doesn't affect Saved Games folder, so you will have to remove them manually from there) and spend dome time in the "Mods and Apps" section of the forum to see if updated versions of your favourite mods (2.5.6-compatible) have been released.

i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.

aws tyvm friends :( so all the edititing we did was for nothing :(.... spended months editing the campaigns and was to upload my works on the campaigns ..... no need for it now anymore i guess

Hello friends ,

 

Apologies for not reading the many other threads that are on atm since we all struggling with this issue trying to make things work..... ans evenso ive edited the vehicles myself already , yet the vcp men are not working anylonger either and we can have only the infantry , soldier or the deck crew as personell around the airports ......

Such a shame DCS didnt take this into account to keep these great addons compatible .... civ obj .... civ aircraft ... ect ..... Some of us spended weeks / months editicng to make the scenes more realistic or alive. For now all these investments seem lost and i hope they will take this into account , orrr integrate these into DCS as standard..... not to mention those developers who took the time and efford to make these addons which must have taken months , just to show their appreciation for this game. I hope they will take this seriously coz i think alot of the users use these addons.

VPC mod works fine in 2.5.6, just some hangar can't have plane in, that's all

The night lighting don’t work on any VPC object, I had to disable it in order for the Mod to run.

 

For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra

For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar

Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB

@voc’s version has lights .. if your don’t see them it means that you are probably using the version that I edited (stripped the lighting) and shared on some thread of the Forum :)

Mod Author's/Artists need to update lighting and textures for 2.5.6.

The Mod has several .lua files, I edited all of them, and On every sentence like this:

 

CWAY.animation_arguments.headlights = 1;

 

... changed the 1 to a 0. This will disable the lighting animations and then DCS will no longer crash when using these objects.

Hello, RWC and all the other friends here, of course.

I'm joining the discussion to tell that I'm experiencing the same issue as yours... but with the carriers. The most weird matter is that I can see every model released, Supercarriers included, in ME, but that's all.

I can't make any kind of operation from or to them, the only best result I got until now is exploding after a rough impact on water just after entered in the pit... if this has been possible, of course. In the most of cases, DCS crashed due that DX11 error.

Bah. Someone would have to fix that one day, I guess.

Updated to the latest version but is this mod is interacting with the Supercarrier module for some reason.

 

 

With the mod enabled and using a super carrier mission, the carrier is missing and the all the planes spawn in their parking positions somewhere on land.

 

 

I'm using JSGME to install and remove for testing.

Sounding familiar, hhmmm... but actually I haven't that mod installed.

Even more weird.

Hi friends,

 

After fooling around a bit i think i have the issue of the fake_spot_lights solved and it was actually quite simple and it seems to work for me.

Since it cant find the fake_spot_lights.fx file i made a copy of the fake_spot_lights2.fx file and just renamed it to the fake_spot_lights.fx file in the same folder.....

 

It seems to work !

 

ill run more tests lateron ....

 

 

See if it works for you guys as well ...
