Bagpipe Posted June 8, 2020 Posted June 8, 2020 So in the spirit of all things daft and currently being driven near insane going into my third month of shielding at home having not left the house or garden in that time....here goes! I am assured this is an accurate representation of how red used to train their aspiring SU-33 pilots though i may not have a reliable source. If you think you can do better please share your experience and if you have any requests as to what i land on it next then please ask away :pilotfly::pilotfly::pilotfly:
Bagpipe Posted June 8, 2020 Author Posted June 8, 2020 I reckon with practice i could get the landing run down to <20ft
Mars Exulte Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 If you didn't know, they tested C-130s on aircraft carriers, I guess just to see if they could. Watched footage of the testing, they did a few touch and goes at first, then shut her down. Believe it or not, the C-130 was getting airborne BEFORE reaching the end of the deck. Eldur Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 You should use the skijump to shorten your landing roll
Bagpipe Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 You should use the skijump to shorten your landing roll That's not a bad idea, i will figure out the final bearing to land pointing at the jump. Could even try a nice touch and go with a back flap or barrel roll upon leaving the flight deck :P
