Mille grazie Admiral per tutti i tuoi fantastici Mod! Buon Natale a tutti! Godere !... How do you land the F-35 vertically on Cavour? The version I have lands and takes off normally, except that when it lands it ends up outside the carrier and remains suspended in the air.

You must have the weight below a certain amount for the ai to land vertically correctly. Adjust load out and fuel load and try and get the weight around 30,000lbs (or lower). I've sent the Admiral an updated runway lua that has more helicopter spots that can help the ai "find a spot" a little better during vertical landing. But having the aircraft at the "correct weight" is key. But that depends on many things including the the Mod you are using. Edited December 25, 2024 by Beldin 1

Thanks for the explanation Beldin, however I'm using the latest version of the F-35 mod 103 release, isn't that the one you use? 1

The version I have lands and takes off normally, except that when it lands it ends up outside the carrier and remains suspended in the air. Hi, I'm using the VSN F-35B, with a total weight about 20% of the max allowed. It then takes-off and lands vertically correctly as AI, when solo. However, when it's a flight of 2 F-35, the first one doesn't ever appear, only the 2nd one. When using 2 flights of one F-35 each, the first one takes-off and lands correctly, but the 2nd one lands outside the ship, and stops there, at the flight deck level. There also are a few glitches in the runways and routes to the parking spots on the deck, as the F-35 collides with the parked Harrier, without crashing. Parking on the aft elevator is also not possible, the aircraft then does not appear, except if it stands partly on the deck, outside the elevator limit. But well, this is a tuning exercise that will be worked out, I guess. Enjoy !
Admiral189 Posted December 26, 2024 Author Posted December 26, 2024 Thanks, guys, those a beautiful photos. Rusty Gunner, you answered my question. I was wondering if the lighting was enough or not. I wanted to create more spotlights but they tend to leave a big glare on the water in DCS. I did however notice the Tarawa deck lights are pretty bright and leave a big glare as well on the water. I think it's something we can't avoid. Toan and Beldin have the weight parameters figured out. I do see the F-35 Take off vertically when she doesn't have weapons and take off using the ramp when she is fully loaded. I hope you all had a wonderful X-Mas and enjoyed some great food. I wish you all great health going into the New Year. Thanks, Rusty, I'm looking forward to getting some pain relief in the New Year. I'm taking it one day at a time. 9
spikef22 Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Has anyone had any CTDs with the Bowen and Kidd? I was just trying them out for the first time and ive got some fatal issues in my log file.
toan Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) Hi, the Italian Cavour carrier group at sea, with FREMM Luigi_Rizzi in the background, and Alpino in the foreground escorting the carrier. Thanks Admiral for your superb Mods. Enjoy ! Edited December 28, 2024 by toan 5
patpatpowercat Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Hey @Admiral189! I was just wondering if the LSD Oak Hill had been updated for the dancing missile guidance problems? I saw there was not an active link on your website for an update.
Admiral189 Posted December 28, 2024 Author Posted December 28, 2024 Hello Spikerf22, I've created new 3d models of the USS Bowen, Kidd, and also the Spruance Class. They will be released hopefully early next year. So please standby for them. Thanks, Toan, nice fleet you have there. It's good to see you all enjoying the mods. It shows me most of you are still interested in them. Patpatpowercat, yes, after I finish the Horizon Class mods I will be backtracking to all the Amphib mods to include the USS Oak Hill, San Antonio, USS America, and Landing craft to go along with them. The LCU, LCM-8, and the LCAC. Everyone I have released the updated version of the ITS Cavour Carrier version 1.0.1 -I re-added the Aft Missile Launcher Missile Cell Hatch. It was there but it was folded downward. -I repainted the ITS Cavour Hull name letters. -I also added a little eye candy on the Flighdeck of the ITS Cavour. Fire Hoses, Hose Reels, and Fire Extinguishers. *** I'm still working on the Thaon Di revel Class Frigate. I will go through and remove all the mods I plan to update. Thanks, everyone for your patience. 9 8

patpatpowercat Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 (edited) @Admiral189Can you look at the Admiral Ushakov as well? It is supposed to be a Sovremenny-class destroyer is it not? In which case it should have SA-N-7 Gadly missiles. It currently fires "SANSA11", with a SA-11 model, but to a range far beyond what it should be, with the threat range being 160nm, this should be ~25nm instead. Or am I mistaken? Edited December 29, 2024 by patpatpowercat
Admiral189 Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 You all are welcome. Thanks. Pat, I don't have a 3d model of the SA-N-7 Gadfly missile. So I used what I could find which is EDs missile the SA-11. If you can find a 3d model of the SA-N-7 3d model I would gladly add it to the model but I will adjust the missile range. I'm not sure where I found those parameters. Thanks.
Admiral189 Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 Pat, I just did some quick research on the SA-N-7 Gadfly missile. It's a naval version of the SA-11 Gadfly (Buk-1m) land-based surface-to-air missile system. --Max Range 55.6. It's designated as 9M38i which is what I used from EDs Inventory. Also, the missiles are the same. I don't see any difference between ED's missile below and the original. I will continue using ED's missile but I will update the missile specs. Update coming. 4
Admiral189 Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 Everyone I've updated Project 956 Admiral Ushakov 1.0.2 SA-N-7A.Lua missile specs. Note, that all 3d missiles for the Project 956 Admiral Ushakov destroyer are ED's 3D missiles. Thanks, Patpatpowercat. 5 1

Is that a typo that it is supposed to be 46.3km? I see you're using some of the same sources as me (CMO). That, wiki, and other sources I could find designate the range for the 9M38 as ~25nm (46.3 km). I see in the .lua the range is 46000, and active radar lock 56000. Although I dunno the difference between those two parameters. Thanks so much for your quick response with this stuff! Oh, and I think you have to update the Admiral Ushakov.lua file as well to reflect the lower threat ring in the map correct? Edited December 29, 2024 by patpatpowercat

DJOGOO77 Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 (edited) hi @Admiral189, thanks for the development of Cavour ship. I test the new update 1.01, the missile system seems broken, the aster missile go into the sea. Edited December 30, 2024 by DJOGOO77
ienatom Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Hi @Admiral189! I think I can speak on behalf of the whole Italian DCS community in saying a very big THANK YOU for bringing our nation's ships to the game. I've said it before already but I'll say it again: "modders" like you deserve official credit from ED for all the work you put in. Without people like you many players would have already left to play other things. I wish you good luck for your recovery and a huge thanks again. 7 CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X, RAM: 4x16GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600 CL16, GPU: Gigabyte RX6800XT Aorus Master, MB: Gigabyte X570 Aorus ultra My userfile content is available here (liveries, mods and whatnot)

Admiral189 Posted December 31, 2024 Author Posted December 31, 2024 Happy New Year to those of you who have observed the New Year. 2025. It's 1700 Eastern time here in the US. We still have 7 more hours. Wishing you all a prosperous and healthy New Year. Thanks, Tromp, I'm hanging on the best I can. I received some back pain relief yesterday from an Injection. I'm very happy it worked this time. It's still too early to know how much relief I received but I'm feeling ok so far. Thanks, Ieantom, I try my best to bring you all AI Ship mods you can play with in DCS. I'm not perfect at creating mods but I try. Trying is half the batter. DJ0GOO77, I just updated to DCS Version 2.9.11.4686 and I tested the Cavour, and FREEM frigates to see if the Aster Missiles were affected but as you can see below the missiles are launching at the targets as they should. I survived another ED update with no issues. There are still more mods to test though. 14
