Is there a way to keep the mirror from running?

Mirrors can be disabled outright in the game options. In most modules that have mirrors you can also flip them up to ''turn them off''.

Does the vr-mirror have impact on performance? In the end everyone who could see it is annoyed due to the somewhat hectic movement...

I dont really need it

The mirror is generated from an already pre-rendered frame and so there is no "real" work to do, simply copy frame to display space.

I would like the ability to turn it off though, so I can display a spreadsheet on screen for emergencies :)

Seriously though, I would like to turn the mirror off because my Reverb PRO was built using potato cameras and I face the screen. My current solution is a crochet blanket from her who must be worshiped.

As Dunx said, there is no performance hit. GPU spends its cycle calculating frames. Not drawing them. It's like rendering 720x480 and enlarging it to 4K monitor. It's only calculating 720x480 pixels and doesn't cost anything to fill up all the pixels on 4K monitor.

But I would like a way to turn it off for convenience reasons.

He asked how to turn off the DCS mirror. That was answered correctly.
Technically correct, the best kind of correct.

Anyhow: kontext is important.
