Last night i updated both DCS OB to the 30.09 version and updated my NVIDEA drivers to the latest version. Having done all that, i deleted the metashader and fxo folders. Restarted both the PC and DCS. And two things happened.

1. The gamma slider no longer works in the main menu, but it does inside a mission.

2. The Sun lost it's glare. It's now just a white circle in the sky.

Ran repair. Tried reverting to the old drivers. Deleted the folders again. Nothing helps. Anyone know what this is all about? And is there a remedy? It's a first time something like this happens to me

Cheers all and safe flying!

Hi. Please try this

1/ Rename your C:\Users\your_name\Saved Games\DCS (or DCS.openbeta) folder into "DCS_backup".

2/ Launch DCS and see if the issues persist.

Thank you for the reply. I just tried what you suggested. Still no joy :(

I think you picked the wrong file: this one is from June 29th. ;)

I need the file which is simply called "dcs.log".

This one? :)

Or are you expecting gamma to change the main menu screen?

Is there a reason i shouldn't?

Yea, because gamma doesn't effect main menu screen. Only during mission or flight.

Odd....... From 09.08.2017 till 30.09.2020 it did....

You may want to check if you have enabled Nvidia Gamma in the Nvidia Control panel. If you do, the slider in DCS has no affect. Also, you don't want Nvidia Gamma enabled because it makes low light conditions horrible. You get banding and the stars disappear completely. Let DCS handle Gamma.
