Set the next DCS module in NZ - Blue North Island vs Red Sth.

No one here will be offended, people will play the game, then come here to see the scenery, & I'll get to land in my own back yard so my girlfriend will be happy ...

Cheers.

I was just thinking how cool it would be if South Africa could be included in the Upcoming Black Shark or Following sims.

South Africa has many indeginous Veichles, we got tanks, apc, armoured cars, arti, planes, Cheetah (now decommisioned), Gipen, and our own Helicopter Gunship the Rooivalk.

So i was just thinking about the viability of this contry being introduced into further DCS Series as i think it would bring some incredible new possabilities to this new sim.

Just a thought would like to know what u think.

By the way im from South Africa

Sort of off topic but this may be to your liking..

Now, if you dont mind me saying, I cant believe we are here actually discussing ethical matters related to a flight sim...

In my opinion, it doesnt matter where the hyppothetical (or real) conflicts takes place because it has NOTHING to do with reality... The key to playing that sort of sim is immersion and you get it from many aspects : beauty of the scenery (clouds, mountains, etc. cheetahs or latin chicks would be welcome:D), or from the realism of flight envelopes and avionics (say SU-25T flight model or upcoming Abris), or from tactical complexity, (timings, altitudes, flightplans, online coop, etc.).

But it has really nothing to do with the atrocity of actual war... War is not about aircrafts and missiles, it is about your own children raped in front of your eyes, it is about torture, it is about 12 year-old kids firing rifles at brothers and kins, it is about the most horrible things in human hearts.

We play a sim because we are little boys adorned with what one of my girlfriends called the vehicular gene (that explains why almost all girlfriends dont really understand our passion for cockpit switches...pardon me Mizzy, you are an exception, praise to you!).

I think we should feel much worse about some stupid guy steeling one's mother's purse in the street or talking without respect to one's wife, (and all other form of violence one can imagine, it is probably unfortunately happening now), than about bombing an area of Israel, Canada or Africa with a virtual aircraft)... It IS a game for Godssake.

But if one feels that he or she is actually doing the real thing (I am talking about war and violence), I really think that this person should quit playing Flaming cliffs (or AmA, or whatever shooter that is fashionable and gory these days).

Now, this is my humble opinion, and I realize that I am being a bit on the moralist side... Sorry, I am probably gettin too old...;)

In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust...

In real life I fly a humble Cessna Hawx XP II with 210 HP :D

Good question; I had the demo for a while and never bought it. But then I never played it online. Some love AA and some don't. It's a matter of taste. Try the demo and see for yourself. And make sure that Bush Wars mod is still being maintained...

O.T. - AA is best played online. head over to simhq and ask.

The only way to make sense out of change is to plunge into it, move with it, and join the dance.

Is the DCS engine open source, in terms of allowing third party developers to create new theatres/geographical regions?

If yes, is it likely to believe that we may see add-ons on i.e. simmarket.com?

A-10C, AV-8B, Ka-50, F-14B, F-16C, F-5E, F/A-18C, L-39, Mi-8, MiG-21, MiG-29, SA34, Spitfire, Su-27, Su-33, UH-1H

YES. Yes YES YES!!! I'm so excited for the A-10, I wish I could be cryogenically preserved until it is released.

It is open source as far as you can modify almost any part of it however you see fit, but I don't think third party developers can charge money for their creations. And thank god for that, imo.

Why not? I know that I would pay for a Northern Europe theater/scenery or flyable aircrafts if it's in the same quality as the Ka-50

Because we don't want 3rd party developers benefiting by making a profit and at the same time, ruining this simulation.

If you want to make mods and changes, then go ahead and destroy the game at your own risk, but NOT with other peoples money.

The only mods I trust are from the developers who created the title--all the rest is crap IMHO.

I do like the current regional theatre. My only complaint at all with it is that there is so much water territory. Considering that this is a helicopter sim, I'd prefer an area with hills, mountains and plains throughout as compared to water.

There are plenty of those, it just seems like a lot of the theatre is taken up by {I think} the Black Sea.

Remember, on Nov. 4th, vote for Black Shark for President!!!
