Only 4 skins? Can we use B skins with the A?

The A is great but I was disappointed that it only came with 4 liveries. How can we use B skins on the A. I believe I read one of the developers here say it would be possible. I have a lot of skins I used with the B which were really intended for the A anyway.

give it a day and you'll probably get a lot of the ones you have on the Bombcat put on the A

Yes you can. Conversions aren't particularly hard...

In your liveries folder, create a new folder called F-14A-135-GR and drop desired liveries inside.

All of the A skins for the B that I have collected over the year look great on the A. I think most of them were A skins anyway!

Both of the VF-1 and VF-84 skins in the trailer were never on the -135-GR as represented. But then again, neither was the VF-21 and VF-111...

Hmm didn't think of that angle. MATS shows a few VF-1 from -135-GR: 162597, 162603, 162605.

They did, but not with the livery seen in the trailer. That livery actually belongs on a -70-GR or a -75-GR. The VF-1 livery for the -135-GR we have would look more like this:

3 or 4 tail numbers in that scheme would be nice. What was their high viz and/or CAG bird painted like in 135-GR? The one launching the AIM-54A?

I got a little bit confused myself, since VF-1 and VF-84, as well as IRIAF were in the trailer. I thought we were getting all three versions of the Alpha at once, but I guess the other two versions will come in incremental steps?

That wasn't actually IRIAF in the trailer... it had the camo, but the roundels were US every time as far as I could tell (at least 2 of the 3).

Yes, first I was also a bit disapointed.

But there were replys to this topic in the official feedback thread.

HB said there will be much more liveries and this is far from the final amount of liveries that will be available.

 

The VF1 and VF84 were coming with the early A, due to they were liveries from the 70s around.

The trailer seems to be for the A in general and not just the late A.

 

Lets see what for skins HB added next to the late A.

 

But I am hoping they wont forgot now about the B.

You can use those B model skins on the A too, just copy or transfer them to proper folder. There are lots of proper skins on user file section.
