mytai01 Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 I have the Oculus Rift CV1 & S2, I also just got the HP Reverb G2. I unplugged the Oculus headset from the PC. I only have the G2 plugged in, but when I start DCS it starts the Oculus software! G2 doesn't even work with DCS (standalone Beta). I see G2's home page, but nothing with DCS. When I first started using CV1, it detected and displayed DCS right out of the box. G2 isn't doing anything with DCS. What gives? I don't know, but I thought this kind of thing would not happen because ED would have been way ahead of the curve and working with these VR companies to make sure everything went smoothly, so that their customers didn't have to jump through a bunch of hoops and have to learn to code...Sorry if this is harsh, but put out a statement for this stuff. Give people a heads up, so they know what they are going to face. G2 is highly anticipated...act accordingly...you're a company! speed-of-heat Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 I suspect your expectation has been mismanaged somewhere. There isn’t a default installed icon to click. have you installed, the latest version of Windows, wmr, wmr for steam vr and steam vr? if you have then you will still need to add an icon either to steam or wmr for dcs, to launch dcs inside wmr, or fire it from the desktop. I use skatezillas excellent launcher, which helps me switch between vr and desktop mode when I need to. try looking here for some basic guidance dcs in very on the g2 start with this, though there are a number of posts both in the vr section and YouTube videos and the like. Baldrick33 Posted December 16, 2020 Posted December 16, 2020 I just got a Quest 2 as a family VR device to go with my Reverb on the same PC. All seems fine but I also get the Oculus software starting up when I start DCS with the G2 (standalone icon or from Skatezilla's launcher). Doesn't really seem to be any issue I would just rather it wasn't running plus if I exit the Oculus software DCS ends too! Is there away of telling DCS not to detect the Oculus software? The Quest isn't connected. Lange_666 Posted December 17, 2020 Posted December 17, 2020 Stop the Oculus service before you run DCS. You can do that through the Oculus Tray Tool or by the means of these handy little buggers: Oculus_OFF.exe Oculus_ON.exe Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. mhe Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 Another way to bypass Oculus is to start DCS.exe with command line arguments. Just create a new shortcut to your dcs.exe and add --force_enable_VR --force_steam_VR Very useful for example if you have Oculus software installed, which also applies to the non-Oculus users who play Oculus games via Revive. That way you can keep DCS from even attempting to call the Oculus API, hence the Oculus software won't even start. | i9 12900K | 64GB DDR5-6000 | STRIX RTX 4090 OC | LG 38GN950 38" | | Hanns-G HT225HPB | TIR 5 & Varjo Aero | Virpil Throttle & Stick | TM TPRs | You don't stop playing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop playing.

That is handy, especially for those of us who forget to run the shortcut to stop it before DCS. Lange_666 Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 You can also prevent the Oculus service from running in the first place. Just set it to manual. It starts then when you open the Oculus software. 1 Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600.
