Hi all!

My apologies if the option is there and I have missed it but It would be cool if in both map and mission editor we had the chance to:

- switch from true to magnetic when using the ruler

- see the magnetic deviation for the location below the pointer (eg. next to the coordinates)

Currently, the ruler measures true bearings (referred to true north) and the conversion to magnetic bearing should be done by yourself; not a big issue (just algebra) but I don't think the above request is difficult to implement. Moreover, magnetic deviation is nowhere to be found in neither map nor ME...😉

That would be quite interesting to see with longer distances as the magnetic bearing changes. For example, what would the fuller show if you drew the path over two different variation lines?

I believe there are no different variations on any DCS map, the variation is standard and set through out the whole map.

That is not true from my experience, testing, and the experiences and testing of others.

Bump.

Just found out last night how massive of an issue this is on NTTR specifically with 12 degrees of variation, means dropping in your waypoints based off bearings from departures and the arrivals end up being incredibly far off when not paying attention to this!

Even if it just showed a separate set of numbers in a different color below the current angle, would be HUGE.
