Can F15 carry Air To Ground weapons in Flaming Cliffs

Dear Friends,

 

I want to load Air to Ground weapons to F15 Plane; such as : AGM-65 Maverick and Bombs MK 82-84 etc.

 

The manual says F15 can use such Missile & Bombs, But I could not be able to load those weapons to my plane in Mission Editor !

 

Can any one explain me how to do it ?

 

Or, F15 plane in Flaming Cliffs never makes Air To Ground mode Missions ?

The F15C does not carry any A2G munitions. The "E" does. Boy does it....

In game F-15 can't carry any A-G weapons. Manual says many things which aren't in game.

The F-15 version we've got in LOFC is F-15C, it's a pure fighter designed to gain air superiority in the theatre. USAF F-15C versions are used in this manner, AIM-9 as a primary close range weapon (IR), AIM-7 Sparrow (SARH) and it's succesor AIM-120 AMRAAM (ARH) as a primary standoff (mid range) missile.

 

No bombs, and A-G misslies have been loaded onto a F-15C, Israeli use slightly modified version F-15I capable of A-G that use unguided bombs, but again most of the A-G flights are a combination of F-16 for smart (precise) weapon delivery and F-16/F-4 for SEAD!

 

I don't fly F-15 in LOFC not did I study it for too long to make a 100% true conclusion but AFAIK Lock On's F-15C doesn't even have A-G and Grid modes. This might also be the case in RL F-15C!

 

Japanese F-15J I'm not familiar with!

Just a small correction.

 

The F-15C always has hd the capability and radar modes for air to ground work in a rudimentary fashion - ie. strafing with the gun and dropping iron bombs.

 

However, the USAF removed those radar and HUD modes because they want their F-15C pilots to concentrate on the job this aircraft was really meant for: Air Superiority.

 

Thus, not a pound for air to ground!

Yes, but Israel had used the AA version of the plane to bomb PLO buildings on Tunis in early 80's.

 

There is no reason to believe that capability has been deleted since Israel tipicaly likes to overtrech their equipment.

That capability is just a matter of software ... F-15C's could be loaded with it at any time. Israel kept the A2G capability.

IIRC Israelis received F-15A that had A-G capability, the only difference is designation (I-Israel), A-G "firmware" was removed only from F-15C!

You can always shoot amraams... a bit expensive to be used in that manner, but who cares :D

You can not carry A2G weapons on the F-15 in LOMAC nor FC unless you modified it with a program called LOPE. Like Vekkinho said, I do not know where you can find the program. In real life, according to USAF F-15 pilots that I have work for, F-15 A/B/C/D can carry some A2G weapons, Dumb bombs, but they said they never train for delivering A2G, never seen them loaded, they did not even know how the HUD simbology looks like. According to them, there is a button in the center console, where you can select mode of operation, A2G, ADI, and VI and this way you can select between A2G, NAV or A2A. I not sure what switch does what, they said they never used them nether, so they did not know.

Even if you LOPE bombs on F-15 they cannot be droped from a players plane.

Try this,

 

8 120s 3 fuels, terain mask to the bandits air base and then shoot'em up.

 

Or,

 

4 120s and 4 AIM-9s when you get to the bandits air base turn on your AIM-9s and kill them on the ground.

 

Just b carefull when you gun them on the ground you might crash due to lag.

The C/D may be fitted with BRU-2GA 6X bomb racks which are cleared for supersonic release; typically the aircraft would carry 18 cluster bombs or 500 lb Mk 82s on two wing racks and one centreline rack. The gross weight limit is set at 68,000 lb.

BTW: ONLY AI F-15C pilots are able to drop bombs & fire missiles in FC...but if these AI pilots are your wingmen...use the wingman commands...they will help you ...4xmpl: killing Shilkas by bombs :smilewink:

No HUD modes nor aiming pipper...only AI pilot able to drop bombs...but able to fire ground,naval targets by missiles also...of course SAMs too by HARMs :thumbup:

Gotta try this with MiG-29, having a SEAD escort wingmen ain't that bad!

Use LOPE to kit it up as an F15E or whatever and it works fine as AI.
