Power to the Tacan and Link 16 systems should be tied together, so powering one of them powers the other and vice versa. This is because both systems are part of the MIDS LVT, so you cant power them independently.

ED will have to find out from their SMEs whether the UFC menus should show ON/(OFF) to indicate this tied behaviour or whether ON only shows on the menu that was selected when the MIDS LVT was powered on.

Powering the TACAN on does power on the LVT - applies power, but does not enable the system, but you still need to power on the DL and power it off separately.  The UFC essentially enables the systems.  On the BIT page, power on the TCN should also result in L16 to be on on the BIT page, but not necessarily so on the UFC.  Powering off the TCN will leave the DL on and, in reality, drain the battery holding the crypto keys in memory.

Correct, not a bug.

I think it would just add another layer of unnecessary ground servicing issues - it would be abnormal to zero-ize the crypto unless compromised or landing in an unsecure location.  It is nice to always have Link 16 work, not always the case.

It'd be an interesting gameplay mechanic for MP though. And even that's besides the point, it's how it works IRL. But we're going OT.

This is a simulator so it should simulate, not ammuse. IRL it is how I described, so it should reflect that, no matter if others think it would be abnormal to touch the switch.

Okay, thanks.

It looks like a known thing with a workaround, but if I got it right, my English is not the best, it's not working as intended.

Will Try it again later and turning off TACAN.
