So having dabbled in DCS on my laptop (which will run it fine, even if the small screen pretty much kills me from actually flying) I think I'm gonna embark on building up a desktop system so I can really enjoy my purchases. LOL I've further decided that when I do, I'm going to use the HP Reverb G2 as my "eyes" into DCS World.

My question is this.....in a two-seat A/C, the F-14 for example, I understand that the RIO can be another human. If so, can that second human be 1) on the same computer as me, and 2) if so, would a second VR headset allow them to look around the backseat??

What got me wondering was thinking it might be fun to have the g/f put on a headset and go joyriding around Las Vegas or Bahrain. LOL

Even if it were possible from a software licensing perspective, and if it's possible to configure in windows (neither of which I think are possible but someone else may correct me) - you would have a very hard time getting good performance out of two separate headsets from one PC. Look at these forums and you will see many many comments about difficulty in getting good frame rates in DCS in VR.

I've got a 3080 and Ryzen 3600xt and I wouldn't dream of trying to run two headsets even if it were possible. It's hard enough with just one 😔

That'd be cool but not possible.  You can however fly on your laptop, have your GF join you as RIO on your desktop with VR.  But you'll need second license of F14 I believe.

Best compromise without extra expense I guess is you just save a track replay.  Your GF ride long that replay in RIO.

So basically it'd be like multiplayer....two separate machines, each with a copy of F-14. Gotcha. I suppose that would have eventually occurred to me. 😆 The internet makes me lazy.

Thanks!

Mind you, fly it really gently the first couple hours. VR sickness is a thing, and being along for the ride instead of driving enhances one's susceptibility to it..
