Hi,

I need to replace my old video card, and I still wonder if I'll go the AMD or Nvidia route. Like either an RTX 3080 or AMD 6800 XT

My thinking is... Nvidia has better raytracing, but for DCS and VR, raytracing is a bit useless isn't it? I think I can live without it.

BUT the amd cards have 16 Gb of video memory whereas the 3080 has only 10. So isn't the video memory very important for DCS?

Thanks

3080ti is rumored to have 20gb
There-are rumors also about the 3080 super.
If they would make also a 3070 ti/super with 16gb it could be very interesting

Maybe but how expensive will be the 3080ti?

The 3080 is at about 900€. They will do the ti version at 1200 at least 🙂

Also, with the lack of graphic cards, the 3080ti will be available at christmas ^^

Those prices are far from what they really are 🙂

Those cards are found at 300$ more than that ^^

Also we need VR benchmarks, and sim VR benchmarks. As sims in VR require not the same kind of stuff than 2D screen games...

Depends how desperate you are. Right now the best card is whatever is in stock at close to MSRP. Otherwise you might have a long wait ahead of you.

Yeah the 3080 official price should be 719 euros, cannot be found at this price....
