After you got your email requesting this information, what happened next and how long did it take?  I have not heard back from Virpil since replying to their email with the requested information.  I have not checked the ticket status on the Virpil site...do I need to check there?

In my (several) experiences of this, I would allow a week per response. And, no, you don’t need to check. You’ll get the response by email.

After further evaluation of my CM3 issue, it turns out moving my "right" throttle to around about 30 percent, it impacts all my switches, axis, and buttons.  When I move the "right" throttle back below about 30 percent, everything works perfectly. The "left" throttle causes no issues at all.  It looks like a wiring issue on the "right" throttle.

Here is the latest status on my defective CM3.  I got an email today from the Virpil engineer requesting the attached screenshot.  It show an error (25 in red) on my right throttle.

Common issue. I had that as part of my first CM3 which had several faults. 
Pretty sure that is a faulty cable issue. They will offer to send you the cable to swap yourself, or send the unit back to Lithuania and they will do it.

Did you send yours back or worked it yourself?  How long did it take to get it back if it was sent in for repair?

I didn't fancy trying it myself, so I sent it back.  I wouldn't say my story was typical in that case as it was complicated by various other factors that were going on.

 

Mine was resolved very quickly, but from my first Alpha return experience, and that of others, I would say you can allow a week in transit, a week at factory and another week to come back to you.  Anything faster is a bonus!

That is about what I am figuring on, however I am hoping for a bonus!

I just can not express enough how difficult it was to send it off and go back to the Warthog throttle in the meantime. I seriously was ready to just live with the issue. You certainly played a role in convincing me to get this done.

 

I feel lost without my CM3.

I know once it is safely back in hand and hopefully in perfect working order I will be ecstatic ! Counting the days.

 

Btw - does Virpil communicate the progress once they receive?

From someone who has only ever used the TM - why is it so much better than the Warthog?

Without getting into a massive post, it is better in every respect than the Warthog.  I loved my Warthog for a number of years, but the day I got my first Virpil throttle - the CM2 - was a life changer in flight sim terms.

My CM3 is a step further on from that.

Maybe Don will expand, if he has the time!

Buttons , axis, and encoders baby, along with a lot more customization options.

And with the CM3 a great physical detent option, with 5 different physical detents plus the ability to physically adjust them a small amount as well. I use for off/idle and detent that requires pulling the lever lifting to get over the detent. For afterburner I use a detent that is just push through. This combined with the ability to add buttons to the throttle axis gives the user many ways to achieve what they would like for themselves.

And in addition to that have the 6 mode shift buttons for those really hardcore about their number of buttons available. 5 modes which can yield 30 different button presses if desired.

 

And frankly when moving those levers - it just feels sooo good. 

Oh and a real mini stick.

You sound like you're smitten, and I can understand why after using a Warthog throttle for a while too. Out of interest what forward detents are you using? All the push throughs feel a little too easy to push through after the Warthog (I filed down my forward detents on the Warthog) and the nice postitive push through to AB I really liked. Not interested in finger lifts for AB but definetely useful for IDLE/OFF.

I think I am using the classic for the AB, it is either the classic or classic plus.

Feels great for me.

Just to add to that, you are not restricted by a replica, and its unusual switches, layout etc.  Great when flying the A-10C, but other modules not so good.

Yeah that would be crap for me too, i use this switch as UMD layer. Mine is a bit wonky (from the start, i have a refurbished unit). But i have a spare just in case...
