Mustang Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 No good to me since i'm an ATi guy :D but no doubt you nVidia peeps will probably be interested in these  XP 32 http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_175.19_whql.html XP 64 http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp64_175.19_whql.html Vista 32 http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_175.19_whql.html Vista 64 http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x64_175.19_whql.html
littlejohn1959 Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 greetings, has anyone tried these drivers? whats your opinion? does lockon run any better? would you reccommend em? cheers . 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
crazyeddie Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Have not tried this driver but have just installed 175.16 XP 32 bit. I have 2 Nvidia 7600 GT's SLI and they show marked improvement over what I had before. This 175.19 driver is not available on the Nvidia site in the UK.
hitman Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 Lost performance in SLI mode in LOMAC, and flashing textures still present on my 9600GTs. I wasnt expecting much. 1
Pilotasso Posted June 25, 2008 Posted June 25, 2008 there has been some coments on the web that NVIDIA will include Physis drivers for all 8 and 9 series cards this Jully. 1 .
Pilotasso Posted June 26, 2008 Posted June 26, 2008 yep, remenber ageia Physis cards? G force cards will be able to do that as well by CUDA because the GPU is 100% programable. There is speculation that one day we might see these chips act as CPU's as well. Intel is keeping an eye since G force chips are theoreticaly much more powerfull than their CPU's. .
BobbyC101st Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 I am usung the 175.19 drivers 32 bit XP Pro and I have 2 9800GTX cards in SLI. Much better frame rate in Armed Assault but unfortuneately still have the abhorations on the side of my aircraft skin and white edges to my airframe in Lock On Flaming Cliffs. I notice the antialiasing does not work at all in performance mode but works well in 16XSLI mode which disengages the SLI performance mode. Running all settings at maximum 1280 X1024 frame rate 65 -130 vertical synch forced off.. Any fix for these moving ripples on the skins? BobbyC101st

BobbyC101st The "white edges to my airframe in Lock On Flaming Cliffs" sounds like the common problem that occur in the latest nV drivers with Full Shadows. Try knocking that setting down one to Full Planar and see if it corrects this.
hitman Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Actually, he should knock his graphics to quality instead of performance. That worked for me a number of times. CAT101st, you should know that AA and AF dont work under performance wimply because the cards are trying to get max fps, and these 2 automatically get killed.

BobbyC101st Posted July 5, 2008 Posted July 5, 2008 (edited) Many thanks to hitman_214th and to Mustang for their help. I was already using Quaity instead of performance setting but when in the game I changed to use the advice: "sounds like the common problem that occur in the latest nV drivers with Full Shadows. Try knocking that setting down one to Full Planar and see if it corrects this." The white edges are gone and also no more ripple effect on the skin of my aircraft. Brilliant....enjoying my flying again....many thanks. BobbyC101st  Edited July 5, 2008 by BobbyC101st
G3 Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 any more info on these drivers would be good to hear about, i have been happy for quite a while with my current version 169.44, but am very tempted to step up to the latest offering, just not at the cost of stability if you know where i am coming from. the full shadows thing is a well know issue in lockon and not a big drama, the AA working or not is something i have also come across, but in other games. even while leaving the nvidia quality setting alone and only adjusting AA settings in game, turning it up too much would sometimes turn it off completely? something else i noticed the other day was that enabling v-sink thru nvidia settings majorly reduced my video card temps, instead of running hundreds of fps i guess they are only drawing the 60 fps? anyway, whatever you are playing, lockon or otherwise please tell of your findings on these new 175.19 drivers, thanks.
TheMoose Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Never mind 175.19 go straight to beta version 177.79 from Nvidia. They Rock ;) Very smooth for Lockon  Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo. TheMoose Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 (edited) How is the SLI with it? Humm, sorry I don’t know, I don’t use SLI... Never had too upgrade to that level so far ;), actualy seing all the SLI issues, I prefer, when required to upgrade to only 1 BIG card :P and sell my previous one...I'm actualy due for an upgrade... But so far I'm very impressed, they seem very stable with the Titles I tried; Crysis Call of duty 4 Grid Racer Battlefield series Assassin Creed, Etc... If you don’t try it, then you will never know I guess, lol :D Edited August 1, 2008 by TheMoose Antec 900 gaming tower, PSU: Corsair 750W, Q6600, Asus P5K, 8Gig Mushkin, Nvidia eVGA 280 GTX Superclocked 1G DDR3, SSDNOW200 Kingston Drive, TrackIr 3000+Vector, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro joystick, Saitek rudder pedals pro, Sharp 42" inch LCD Aquo. G3 Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 (edited) thanks for the feedback, always updating drivers is a nightmare to me. i used to do it whenever some new beta turned up but now not so often. prefer to wait for the whql for some reason. good to hear they run nicely in lockon and more modern games  your list looks like a solid testing enviroment. and you're right, if i don't try i will never know. for interest sake, what drivers did you have before the new beta 177.79 its good to discuss drivers as each one seems to have a personality as such, maybe image quality variations etc, aa not working or similar. the whql version should be out very soon as this 177.79 is now a candidate for whql, generally it sounds like most people see some gains if only minor. personally i am sticking with the 169.44 for now, a bit scared :) i do agree with you about upgrading to 1 new highend videocard, its just i like to put another one exactly the same right next to it :smilewink: edit: the 179.79 whql version apparently rumoured for release august 5th Edited August 5, 2008 by G3
