Hello to all of you,

I've been using FSX to satisfy my cravings for flying but after i found out about Black Shark, i'm speechless...

This game was made for me, it looks fantastic, sounds great and as long as i can play it without track-ir, i will be in heaven.

I just would like to thank the dev team for working so hard on a decent heli combat sim, i hope you can release it this year...

I can't wait to try this out :)

You can, but you would be missing out. :)

The 6DOF can be commanded by the keyboard of course, but that's a lot of buttons to set up. It is extremely useful to raise your head and move it to the side, allowing you a high-view over one side of the nose, and thus loads more visibility.

Or you can look to the side, and bring your head forward, revealing much of your inner wing - your FoV becomes 270 (more or less) this way instead of just 180.

Of course, TIR is not cheap. If you want to try your hand at a somewhat DIY project, I reccomend: http://www.free-track.net/english/

Required a web-cam, some LEDs, and some unexposed (but processed) photographic film negatives (to blick out light, but allow the IR light of the LEDs through to your webcam - that way you don't have to permamently modify your webcam).

It would be a good idea to run this on a dual-core system.

I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda

Plus, you get a cool webcam that can record the near IR spectrum, and see cool stuff such as money protection features, remotes used as a flashlight, and... you didn't hear it from me, cotton is semi-transparent at those wavelengths ;)

Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

In Longbow2 have a key (ALT believe) that when the hold, the joystick controls the sensor. In this way besides using another system we can use the same joystick (X and Y axes) to move the sensor with great sensitivity.

Not necessarily, old floppy disks work just as well and are IMHO more readily available. Works fine with me ;)

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.
