I am wondering what the "rays of light" in the latest OB would be.  Any chance of a video?

It works in OB 2.7.10. The thing is, when the rain is too heavy, the white "steaks" of rain or snow would block the screen. I would say, under such circumstance the visibility would be very low IRL. However, if the white colour could be toned down a bit, it would be better.

Can I ask where the mods go? The instructions say just unzip to the main DCS path, but do I leave them in \Steamgames\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Pastrana_MONITOR_Mod_Rain_Cockpit01, or \Steamgames\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\Bazar\

The ideal is to use a mod manager, with this you enable or not the mod you want.

can someone please shed some light for me? i downloaded the VR file 2.7 and placed it into the bazar location. the rain looks the same as vanilla. 

 

additionally, can this mod be installed in the open beta? i cant seem to find the "bazar" file in open beta. thanks in advance.

i have found out if using only droplets.fx you will get all that magnificent rain droplets and no problems with bright ouside rain. tested on monitor in latest OB

there is only one file to edit droplets.fx, there is nothing we can do without mod author im afraid(

Option 3 has some "square" smear which does not look very natural to me.

disregard my message. your mod is fine. it looks like more a dcs bug (the way you script the mission... type of clouds preset+ weather preset etc.... really bizarre. ED has to change something on it). sorry for disturbing.

@VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants I just installed this mod and the updated droplet.fx files (thanks for that) but have the same issue as the person above. The rain is bright white and makes visibility impossible. Any ideas what needs changing? This is in the non-VR version latest public release DCS. Thank you

Rain drops going through the cockpit is something, iirc, not related to the mod, even without the mod, the planes are not "rain proof"

And for the white bloom, I dunno what can be done about it. Sorry.
