DCS crash with XRNecksafer , i went back to VRNecksafer .

This works for me . Start steamVR then run VRNecksafer . Center when in game .

Same with me. When I used to run VD through steam I couldn't use XRNS. I had to use VRNS instead.

No not using steamvr, at least not directly, I use the. Varjo Aero, so it uses steamvr  for tracking.... yes using xrnecksafer, which ever is the latest relezse

So Ive got VRnecksafer working in DCS and other flight sims i have .

But i just cant get XRNecksafer to work in DCS  . i go through pico link and steamVR .

https://gitlab.com/NobiWan/xrnecksafer/-/tree/beta5candidate?ref_type=heads

However when running beat4a all is working on desktop app .

But in game 3D world , nothing works ,if i turn my head as normal all works but if i try necksafer ,no added views work .  Just normal head movement . odd .

But VRNecksafer all working .

It  was to disable SteamXR or whatever it was. I forget how I did it. I'm using the Varjo runtime for it.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

using dcs beta and hp reverb g2 and had problems with xrnecksafer beta5a so gave up on it a year ago.  problem was the yaw origin was messed up going left or right, even though in-game center button was pressed.

just tried it again and figured out that the g2 has to be placed on the head or oriented near the head pointing in the 'reset' position when dcs is started.  it apparently uses position at dcs launch as the initial reference for the yaw axis instead of the in-game centering position (maybe the in-game centering doesn't update the hmd init yaw position?).

so now it works perfectly as it did before the multithread beta.

must first launch xrnecksafer before launching dcs.

Thanks for the tip @kdfw, i will give it a go tonight. This off-center rotation issue has been breaking the experience indeed. I just managed to get rid of another issue, the black screen covering the DCS when xrnecksafer was running, the secret is to not to start WMR before DCS but to allow DCS to start WMR automatically after program start.

Doesn't seem to work for me.

The rotation to either side takes my view out onullf the cockpit.

These are my settings:

Just using HOTAS keys to add the extra rotation to either side.

It is very likely that this is caused by your flight sim seated position/orientation not being the same as you used to set up your (Steam)VR environment (room setup). Also make sure that both when you launch DCS as well as launch & activate XRNS, you're seated wearing your HMD exactly (!) the way you will be later during flight. Means: same seated height, same lateral and longitudinal position on chair or rig, same default forward looking direction, same HMD pitch angle. For example, when I put my HMD on my rig's seat and launch DCS/XRNS, XRNS will be off in a way similar to yours. I have to wear it on my head sitting with the rig already in the neutral instead of parking position (motion rig).

Good luck!

I applied your advice but it doesn't work in my case. the view goes outside of the cockpit

Two questions:

1. What HMD are you using?
2. What is your VR view direction/position in the menu screen after launching DCS, but before centering VR view?

1. The Quest3

2. The view position is on the right side. - Prior to launching DCS or XRNS, I mount the Q3, then view desktop, then launch XRNS and then DCS.
