Just a quick question about the pilots pov. Does it change slightly to reflect how gravity, inertia and other flight forces act upon the pilot? Just asking.

hey EB...

thanks EB. I don't know how I missed that. Also I guess my search of the FAQ was inadequate. Good stuff though, and a nice touch.

All of these are optional and can be turned on/off in-game while flying.

That's excellent! I tried to get LO:MAC the other day but everywhere had sold out. :(

I hope the effect is better than the MS attempt in FSX!

Best regards,

Tango.

Question kinda related to pilot view....

will G's factor into the degree in which a pilot can move their head? ala, the greater G's the less the pilot look around as it becomes harder and requires more muscle strength to move your head. Probably something to consider abit down the line when we get fast movers or other aircraft that can sustain great amount of G's for maneuverability.

The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world.

Black Shark still uses the cockpit jiggle effect and the "natural head motion" effect as seen in LO. In addition, there is an added head roll effect, where the pilot rolls his head automatically to compensate for aircraft roll.

All of these are optional and can be turned on/off in-game while flying.

As I remember it, these views in lock on were not compatible with trackir. So when you turned them on, your head started doing the roll left roll right movement, but you lost the ability to look around with trackir if you wanted. Has this been fixed for BS? Can you have an automatic head roll and still look around with trackir at the same time, or is it like you said "as seen in LO"?

I can see it now...

I foresee a fun competition ala the RedBull Air Races with the pylons. Same flight routine, but using the Black Shark. Imagine the pilots' views when whipping through the slaloms, then pulling up and over to do it again from the oposite direction! All the while trying to get the best course time. Hey! It might be fun! :D I'd love to see how the head movement might be implemented there. But not at the expense of Tract-IR performance. ;)

wait one, GGT...

It might not be so bad. In IL2 on hyperlobby someone was (is?) always hosting an air race. With the fabled agility of the Ka50, this would be a chance for pilots to strut their stuff. Accidents might be minimalized by simply racing the clock, not one another. But racing one another through pylons might be a blast too. This idea might gain more traction after BS is released. It might be a fun way to practice controlling the chopper for the time when wild and extreme evasive action is required in a combat zone. Hey, it could happen!:music_whistling:

I second that - However the setting would be through the streets of a Major City......Darting between Skyscrapers with wee AK-Men in Alleyways just to sweeten the pot...........:gun_rifle:

sobek, that's just sick!:megalol: Not sure I want to be in the lead in a race with you!

Hey Viper, racing through a city sounds like a plan to me!

Yes, I agree. What I mean to say is, flying under powerlines will end up with a lot of people causing powerline rotorstrike (fatal) or tower strike (also fatal) ... so ... lots of wrecks :D

And really, evasive action in a chopper ... is prevention. If you have to evade, consider yourself lucky to survive if you do manage it. Agility is pretty meaningless if you don't have the acceleration of speed to vacate datum in time.

no matter how you slice it, combat or air racing, tossing the Ka50 about in violent manuevers ought to be a real blast! I just hope I do't pull so hard I encounter a blade-on-blade collision. Wheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!:D

I guess all we'll really need is for someone to come up with racing pylons that can be placed on a map. ;)

Yupp! Or we could just use the TV tower in LO (if it's still there in BS)..

Now I can't wait to get racing!! :D
