Had a quick play with it today. Still not sure on my button arrangements so that will be a labour of love.

The Virpil software is not easy on the eye or that user friendly. Going to have to look into how to use switches T1 to T6 as toggle switches as not getting full use from them.

I have no idea if it is possible to set the  Landing Gear LED's to go from green to red unless someone knows how to link them?

Nice solid build about half as heavy as the  WartHog Throttle base. The Rubber feet work very well but will leave black rubber marks if unit is pushed.

Not used to it's full potential yet untill I can work out this Software. Was able to change the LED colours on the buttons and the Landing gear not sure if it is possible to make the buttons

change colour momentarily if button is depressed.

Over all a nice piece of kit.

Virpil software made my pc go nuts at one point I had to uninstall and remove settings from Control Panel.

When it made Windows go ‘nuts’, did you have keyboard mapping ticked?

That’s the only thing I’ve seen to cause that.

Nice looking setup!!

Ya know a CM3 Throttle would look real good beside that Control Panel #2.

😇

Still trying to convince myself I do not need a Control Panel #2...

Nice set up, now that you have CP2 I can only recommend the Virpil Throttle in place of the Warthog, I went from the Warthog to the Virpil Throttle and it was so much better - precision with programmable functionality and I personally have never had any QC issues. An investment I know but it is worth it. The Virpil software takes a bit of learning but once you understand it, it is actually really good

Yes, because that function maps the keyboard commands that Windows uses! Don’t use it. Still WIP.

You maybe right, I just always wanted a button box. Good question "Do you really need one?" It does make life slightly easier.

I have the Virpil Throttle and CP1 and can’t wait for CP2.
Throttle

mode 1 - Start / Stop

mode 2 - Flight Controls (this will be CP2 when it arrives)

mode 3 - combat/weapons

mode 4 - Aux Pilot Control

CP1 Autopilot, Engine Controls Cooling, lights, Trim

I try to use the same function across different modules which can be quite a challenge.

Can you expand on that a little?

Trying to visualize how you use it?

if the LED button Lights (total of 28 via CM2, CP1, & CP2) would be functional (full control of the LEDs to allow mapping from DCS) it would be great.  Currently, no easy options.

Quick question about the profile. If I add a Control Panel #2 to my CM3, and run them together as a single device, do I have to redo a whole new profile from scratch or is it possible to add a device to an existing profile?

Cheers

I couldn't see a way, so I had to redo from scratch.

The other thing is that the allocated axis-to-button numbers get changed, so that needs sorting out as well.

Im with you on this.. Currently have the CP#1 and with the 5-way on the CM2 gets me moar buttons... but I dunno this CP#2 is calling out to me..  It would be nice to have another panel, using the 5-way to change button binding mid flight sometimes is a bit tricky. Sometimes you need to keep some switches to a fixed bind on all modes..

Nice addition.

If I ever find myself needing more buttons I will take a serious look at getting one of these.

You needing moar yet?

No at least not yet. I was tempted to just go ahead and get the CP 2 but I really am not sure I would utilized it enough to justify the expense.

So far with my CM3 throttle I am not hurting for buttons. Especially with the ability to use a modifier in DCS to effectively double the buttons.

It’s not essential, but really good to have.
i use it mostly for start up stuff, and the rotaries are really useful as well. Not to mention the gear lever.
if anyone is on the fence, just go for it!

The gear lever and trim rotaries were my main reason to get the CP2 🙂
If the CP3 will look like the image posted on page 1 of this thread, I'll get that one as well.

Do the rotaries on the CP2 behave differently than the rotaries on the CM3 throttle?

Nope, they work exactly the same.
