VMFA117_Poko Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Do you guys plan on shipping BlackShark with pre-made profiles for HOTAS such as the Cougar, Saitek X52 and CH Products setups? Just having the keyboard commands loaded into the macro file for us ahead of time will save quite a bit of time creating a new profile. There will be map of real KA-50 HOTAS in the manual so I prepare such profile even before premiere when we'll be able to download the manual earlier. If you want, I can share profile for vanilla X52.
deviletk Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Awesome video as always! Wanted to see the flares though :) If BS will be shipped with HOTAS setups i hope Saitek X45 also is in there. Rhino4 Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 @ Wags: Do you think you could turn the producers notes into track files/training tracks and include them in release? Would be cool to watch them in-game. 1
Yellonet Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Are flares really that effective in real life? Obvioulsy it all depends on a lot of things but if you did the exact same thing as in the video in real life. If they're really that effective IR AAMs would be useless once the target knows about them...?! I find it hard to believe... and Wags wasn't just lucky right :p i7-2600k@4GHz, 8GB, R9 280X 3GB, SSD, HOTAS WH, Pro Flight Combat Pedals, TIR5

Obvioulsy it all depends on a lot of things but if you did the exact same thing as in the video in real life. If they're really that effective IR AAMs would be useless once the target knows about them...?! You have to consider he used almost all the 64 flares on the left side within a couple of minutes. Won't be able to stay over the battlefield for long with that kind of usage.
Ferocious_Imbecile Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 OMG, #7 was the best one yet in terms of quality. The Track IR movements really gave you a strong sense of 3 dimensionality and the detail of that landscape was mindblowing. Sometimes I question the wisdom of spending so much time learning a game like this but when you show videos like this all my doubts disappear. I particularly liked the sequence with the SAMs coming up at the Black Shark. Very very nice. WOW.

Having the heater already tracking you and then popping flares is one thing, shooting out a clouds of flares as you ingress is another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CAFCudNNG30 It would also depend on the IR missile's seeker.
McVittees Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 Just the button on the UV-26 panel if I recall correctly. The manual has full images and function call-outs for the collective and cyclic. Excellent! Thank you! :-) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] "Great minds think alike; idiots seldom differ.":pilotfly: i5 3750K@4.3Ghz, MSI Z77A GD55, 8GB DDR3, Palit GTX 670, 24" Benq@1920*1080, X52 Pro, Win 7 64bit.
krz9000 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 i really hope u guys get this on steam. its so convenient. (and thats a important point in these days of torrent sites)
d0ppler Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I second that. Steam is a great online game market, the way it should be. A-10C, AV-8B, Ka-50, F-14B, F-16C, F-5E, F/A-18C, L-39, Mi-8, MiG-21, MiG-29, SA34, Spitfire, Su-27, Su-33, UH-1H
nscode Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 here's a mig-25 accelerometer doing the same thing as in this video: and the magnetic compass is best modeled ever :D Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.
GeorgeC525 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I actually agree, steam is a fantastic online distribution service, and makes games harder to pirate, not only that, they will be in touch with the developers, allowing for automatic updates and such. Anyone else want to follow up? I got distracted and forgotten all the points I was going to make...
