The Trigger option does not exist anymore, and simply setting up a few Searchlight with the generator in the group does not turn on the units, even when flying above and circling around and near them with an enemy coalition plane. Obviously, mission was set at night, 00:00 on caucasus to be precise.

I've also tried adding the radars to the group as well as the KdoGerät, but only the KdoGerät seemed to work.

I asked Suntsag for help and the following situation is the case:

First, you need a "Maschinesatz" in the close vincinity.

Second, you can turn the searchlights on and off via "Unit AI ON/OFF" for the "Maschinesatz"

Third, you will need an enemy plane above the searchlight to enable it, without a plane it will not illuminate.

Hi folks, I tested Search Lights during CB. They are undergoing changes.
The first change is that they no longer can be told to turn on or off outside of AI on or off. The trigger was removed during 2.7
The second is they rely on detection of something to illuminate, so just leave them be, they find it. All mine were in groups with Machinesatz and the ranging targetting unit - i forget its name.

I have found that they appear much better in their natural usage by switching off instead of parking, but there are still elements to work on with this like usage in the daytime or if you can force them in any behaviour. Elsewise they work fine (enough) and due to their automation i would say better on the whole than before (with the exception of automation in daytime).

Do you have a sample mission?

I simply cannot get it to work, neither with the Freya and Würzburg radar, nor with the Hawk SR and TR helping them out. Also tried Unit AI on/off and Group AI on/off, no difference. All at night of course with an enemy plane flying close and far around them.

Here's a simple sample mission in the early morning on the Caucasus map with light clouds.

The searchlights are only paired with a generator and nothing else. Aircraft entering range of the search light cause it to turn on.

With the night mission (which is pitch black on my screen) I paired a FuMG-401 with the search light, and again, it functions without doing anything else.

I read some where else that you need to have the generator close to the light.   I made a group with one generator and one light and flew all around the light with no luck.

I went back into ME, zoomed in and moved the generator right beside the light and it worked.   The tow hitch of the generator was touching the light.

I don't think you have to be that close but I have not tested to see how far away you can get and have not checked to see if one generator will work with multiple lights.   No triggers set or scripts used.  Just moved the generator right beside the light.

Sounds more like something is wrong with your setup, maybe attach your mission?
