lol don't be mean to the new guy.

To tightmf, ED has enough on their plate as it is. They already listed the aircraft they planned to model. Please read the FAQ or do a search.

I still say (and will always say) the AH-64 A-D are piles of dung, and the King Cobra should be modeled instead. Im not going around begging to have it added, thats all.

So you’ve red the pocket manual.

I know the human being and fish can coexist peacefully.

I must admit, working on the Legacy upgrade program was a blast. I was the team leader of what was known as Z3, the first AH-1Z to every fire weapons from the new platform.

If this were to ever be modeled I would be a happy man, but I doubt it being so much is classified.

Now, on to trolling other forums.

Cobra attack helicopter + Playstation/N64 hybrid controller = genius!

What are you talking about tiger?

The AH1Z, AH1W, UH1N, UH1Y will not be flyable. Don't ask me how I know, I just do. ;)

Who would have thought? :D

Good, fast, cheap. Choose any two.

Come let's eat grandpa!

I assume he's talking about the controller in the AH-1Z for controlling many options within it. It looks a lot like a PS3 / N64 controller. The engineers actually told me they used game controllers to see what felt best for the pilots. :smartass: :joystick:

Yep thats it. If you could find a way to integrate it along with the collective and cyclic, which it appears that they have, it seems like a comfortable way to add a third(!) controller.

Not exactly the King Cobra, anyway, here is a nice vietnam era video about the development of the AH-1G, also includes some footage of Slicks and Huey Gunships.

I really enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing.

BTW. Would like to see the Cobra in DCS future plans. I can only hope.:music_whistling:

You can hope all you want. Hell, I would LOVE to see the Z in this sim. I'd even settle on the W. I've got Z6 and 7 here with more to follow. I've got a bunch of Ys here too. But unless BH gets off the training and simulation stuff and allows others to produce it, it'll never happen. Simply put, they own it, and they're not shareing.

Has nothing to do with the controls guys sorry.

I beg to differ. If you want to properly have a pit for the non-existent DCS: King Cobra, you're going to need another "controller" in addition to your cyclic and collective. :D

Thing with buttons that does stuff that I plug into something = controller ;)
