Can anyone direct me to an idiots guide to slewing the tgp to a mark created by the hmcs? It would seem to me to be a game changer for me if I could figure this little one out.

thanks in advance

By Markpoint here I assume you mean designation. Simply assign the TDC to the HUD, aim at the target, depress the TDC and voila. Everything is slaved to that point.

If by Markpoint you mean markpoint, then go to the HSI, cycle the waypoints between 59 and 0 to find the markpoints. Once you have the desired one selected, press WPDSG and it will create a designation on the selected markpoint.

Really so it’s as simple as Tdc long on target and my tgp should swing over to that point?

Are you actually talking about the A10? Reason I ask is "TGP" and long actions are a thing in that jet, but not the hornet. Not being pedantic, I've posted in the wrong forum before, too!

To be really pedantic, long actions are a thing in hornet too 😉

To use your head to designate a target, hit sensor select forward, then nws/undesignate.

TDC Depress to lock the target.

MK1 to save in Mark Point 1

On recalling the markpoint:

There is a bug on the f18 right now where if you hit WPDSG while the Tpod is the Sensor of Interest it will pick some random spot instead.

So be sure to set something else SOI before you hit WPDSG.

To use your head to designate a target:

- hit sensor select forward (to assign the TDC to the HUD/HMD, diamond will appear in the VV of the HUD when view is centered on it, otherwise in the lower left corner of the HMD display)

- then nws/undesignate (a previously designated target - on the HMD display the ring of dashes pointing to the dot in the center of the HMD display MUST appear, if not nws/undesignate again until it does - this is your TDC aimin point)

- use your head/HMD to  aim the TDC aiming point onto your wished target, and

- TDC Depress to lock (designate) the target.

- MK1 to save in Mark Point 1 (optional, but possibly useful)

To avoid confusion, when the TDC is assigned to the HUD/JHMCS, you wont see a diamond. You will see a dot in the centre of the VV and a dot, with dashed lines radially expressed from the centre dot, in the JHMCS
