peirof Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Hi, In Dcs there are two pauses: - the NORMAL PAUSE, which if you press it stops everything, and you can't handle the controls of the plane, and - The ACTIVE PAUSE, in which if you can make adjustments in the avionica... But yesterday I realized that the units are still moving (I guess with missiles and bombs, it will be the same) Until now, I used the active pause, I'm a newbie, and I have a hard time finding which buttons I should press or procedure I should follow... But this discovery makes active PAUSE incontable. Is there a third pause (I guess not) that stops everything but you can continue to use the plane's avionica? As you do... For example when you approach a target and you have to look for it on the radar, and fix it ... And with a mouse, you don't have the ability to press the MFD button 2
Tom Kazansky Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 No there is not but you can slow down the time for such things. 1

I was hanging still but the enemy was not. 1 ----- Don't practise till you got it right. Practise till you don't do it wrong

If you want to learn some stuff, make a little mission in the mission editor, keep it as simple as possible, just you and some easy targets and then you can use active pause as much as you want for learning purposes. 2 Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Challenge with that is that before you learn the basics of how to use the weapons systems, you have to learn on how to use the mission editor They don't make it easy for use beginners 1 ----- Don't practise till you got it right. Exorcet Posted June 29, 2021 Posted June 29, 2021 Out of curiosity what were you trying to do when you got shot down? Most of the heads down work should be done before you run into the enemy. If you happen to be around the enemy unexpectedly, you can extend to give yourself time to setup your aircraft. I'm not against more options for active pause, but I think improving your procedure and timing could also help you. 1 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files

Yes but then... you as single player and one or a few non combat enemy planes (or a few easy ground targets) and that's it. Nothing complex, certainly no triggers, scripting etc is needed for this. And ones you have one that suits your needs your can use that as basis. I was doing a 2 vs 2 sidewinder (training) mission, you are about 15 miles apart, nose to nose. You just have time to turn on Chaff dispenser, select the sidewinder and you have tone! ----- Don't practise till you got it right. Practise till you don't do it wrong
