Frag Posted July 14, 2021 Posted July 14, 2021 Hi guys, I am flying the Mi-24 for few weeks now while having a lot of fun. But yesterday night, I removed the dust cover from the old Huey and had a simple flight. One thing I noticed on the spot is how the Huey became easy to control while close to hovering/landing. I used to struggle with this a lot with the Huey ...everything from hovering to slowly maneuvering. What was surprise when I realized that the Mi-24 is even tougher to control at low speed. All to say ... learning to handle that Mi-24 at hovering made me appreciate the Huey even better now!!! I am flying the Huey waaaaayyyy more effectively. Anyone experienced the same? 5
Fenin Posted July 14, 2021 Posted July 14, 2021 I had this years ago when moving from the Mi-8 to the Huey. Hip and Hind feel like flying a bus, when you go from them to the Huey it's like suddenly driving around in an overpowered moped. Parking spots are just so much easier to find and get into, shame you can barely fit your groceries on it though. 3
Avimimus Posted July 14, 2021 Posted July 14, 2021 I'm finding I'm much better with the Mi-8 too! I think having access to the CCIP gunsight on the Mi-24 has helped, as has experiencing the different handling. 1
Danzig Posted July 14, 2021 Posted July 14, 2021 Still cant land the huey but habe a blast with the hind. If that counts 1
Bagpipe Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Now jump in the Gazelle and do some acrobatics! Easy as pie, crazy little bird

Topic is dead horse anyways, so educate yourself about the topic that explains it in detail how incorrect it is. It is waiting total rework for it flight modeling, not just few control input tweaks. Wow, you sure like starting arguments over nothing huh. I didn't say it was correct, I said people can still get some fun out of it until it is up to standards. I think you need to chill out and not be so pedantic 1
