followed the tutorial and bought the disk from qp site, I also bought the digital download version so I have no trouble waiting for the disk to arrive, just hope it comes sometimes this year or start of jan :lol:

I live in Sydney and purchased the Russian ver from 1c website. PITA but worth it, paypal>FOREXsite>Webmoney>1C, download. Follow the guides to the letter. Havent peeked at the DCS site. Hopefully, they will make it easier for you.

Its under the product section in the russian page. In fact if you follow the link to the product section using the English site, then click on Russian (top right) you will see the link to the Official Russian Download Version.

 

I however can't proceed further than this because its not letting me register at http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com, which it appears is what you need to do to buy the file. Very frustrating, I believe its a security certificate issue, but I cannot find a way of fixing it either in Firefox or Internet Explorer.

 

Can anyone offer any further guidance here please?

There you should found two buttons: Download and Buy again (all in Russian) and you serial number.

Okay! On the mirrors page you should find two files "setup.exe" and "data1.cab". You must download both of them.

 

Choose the better mirror for you and take it!

So, set me straight please, non russians are able (and permitted) to use the DCS.com website to buy and dl the russian version??

 

If so, I'm still unable to register at that website due to receiving a blank page after submitting my registration information. I get to the index.php page and thats as far as I get, blank, no security certificate warnings... nothing.

Ok I can now register, and have paid for the game $24.99 but again I'm having the same problem trying to find the download links. On the Files->Products section of the site (Russian version) It is still only giving me the option to buy a download copy with Protx. Again, I've already done that.

 

When i completed the purchase with Protx, it forwarded me to the LockOn website file area...!!

Update on my post of a day or two ago. When I changed my 1C account registration from a USA country address to Russia, no problem in paying for and downloading the two BS files. In progress now. Thanks for all the help here!

You may remember my post about transferring money, so I will mention it here. I set up a webmoney account and tried to transfer money to a purse using paypal via www.exwp.com. My transfer didn't show up. Today (7 days later) it finally shows up in my purse! I can now get Black Shark from 1C! I'm glad the money will get into the hands of ED. BTW, thanks for the manual today!

Weird story, your experience with PayPal/Web Money. In my case, I had no real trouble at all -- the real challenge was using Google on the 1C site for translations. From starting the process to downloading the files took a total of 48 hours, and that includes interruptions from work and family, and mistakenly listing my account country as USA instead of Russia. But I suspect any financial transactions with former Soviet bloc countries have a heightened weirdness factor.
