I had crashed two digits times right now, it makes felt that there is something worng with the flight model, as there are abundant video resources indicate that hind in reality is could be highly stable during takeoff and landing unlike in game which is basically uncontrollble, i think that there is something wrong with the flight model and wish ed to correct it sooner(same goes uh1 huey and mi8)

While  taking in consideration that pilots in these videos have full fidelity controls, 180°of ULTRA HD vision and most importantly, seat of pants feeling, it would also help is you give us a track file of your problem. I don't feel that Mi24 is too unstable compared to Mi8, just visual references are different.

I known its can be a crazy idea but... maybe, just maybe the problem on takeoff and landing can be you?

I do love those threads.  Ed has years of reasearch and coding, SME's that have flown the real thing as a job and access to the real helicopter and so on.

But no, they are wrong and my proof is that i saw a Youtube video of a Hind.....

Honestly, do you really believe that?

BTW, i have no problem with either takoff or landing.

If in doubt make sure you don't enable the yaw autopilot channel before takeoff. It sometimes goes crazy for me and killed me several times. I believe it has something to do with how ED implemented it for all of us who don't have the touch switch on their pedals as the real aircraft does.

So if the aircraft starts to turn rapidly into one direction and out of control check if the yaw channel is on. If you survived long enough you can disable it and switch it back on. I think that resets the centering. But for me the safest way is to always leave it off.

I began to always fly with yaw autopilot channel off and everything is fine and smooth as butter since I did that.

I never had problems with these though.

I guess it depends on what exactly your gripe is? The controls are a bit twitchy by default so that it works properly with stick extension. If like me you don’t use a stick extension then you should add either +10 curves to pitch and roll axes, or reduce X saturation down to like 80 in pitch and roll.

the trim I think still has a bug as they didn’t include the fix in the previous patch.

there is some kind of a WIP issue with the FM it seems since it doesn’t appear to weathervane correctly in sideways flight to the right, unless that is a new implementation of LTE.

the aircraft also seemed to lose some of its weight feeling, as in no matter how heavy you load it up it still very easily pitches and rolls.

But regardless, if you practice and fly it within parameters then you can take off and land and look very “stable.”

but does that not document the problem?
Especially the last sentence... that basically says "git gud at a sh$%" game" - just translated into DCS.

Sure, you can "control" the asset, you can make it "look" stable - but it IS NOT stable, just as it does NOT HAVE weight and a too twitchy nose.

And while "mastering" whatever there is may be enough for some.. should this be acceptable or "enough" for anyone with any standards or self-consciousness?

Earnest question.

Sorry guys, feelings just wont cut it for bug reports, we have pilots SME's and we have data that we are working with.

There will be a flight model review as we progress I suggest waiting until then, if you still think there is a problem please supply track replays and any evidence you have regarding data of the flight model.

thanks
