Esc key not working in multiplayer

@Flappie My fix for the problem is to start first a single player mission before I go to an multiplayer server. Then, the escape key is working.

I want to add that I have the same Problem with a additional Problem.

First. Rebinding Keys doesnt work
cmd: cleanip and repair didn't fixed it

I have to go into the Editor and exit it again to get ESC Button function in MP and SP Training back

Have you some extra mods like LotAtc/SRS/DCS:BIOS?

I have at least 2 users that have the problem with LotAtc Server mod installed (there is others users with that problem with SRS or DCS:Bios).
There is nothing related to keybinding with LotAtc and it works for 99% of my users but perhaps it is related to mod management (config dialog ? ) at some point.

Copy, is LotAtc server is enabled in DCS > Special options > LotAtc ?

I have an user that have fixed the ESC problem by enabling LotAtc here, that is why I suspect a trouble with custom dialog in DCS (just a theory actually).

I confirm, my key don't work in multi if i try right away after DCS start, i need to lauch a solo mission then escape then join multi and only doing this my ESC works

Pretty it has something to do with full screen and windows alt/enter but still working on a fix. It also disables the ability to go from f2 f3 f4 and all of those keys.

OK, it's just happened to me. It's not only the Escape key that wasn't working, but any keyboard key.

My situation was:

  • game had just been updated (shaders were re-made)
  • SRS was launched
  • I joined a paused server
  • server was de-paused
  • and boom, no keyboard

I see nothing strange in the log.

Oh, and I had LotATC reinstalled not so long ago. I sense a pattern here.

Don't know whether it is related but the last time I read about similar problems in a German thread, it was caused by the option "synchronise HOTAS" in the DCS settings.

Same problem here for a long time, I already know the "instant action before multiplayer" workaround.

lot of shortcuts don't work if I don't use it, like "pause" key to unpause my hosted server, my VR recenter hotas binding also... etc...

I have Lotatc server enabled

Same problem here and without a clear solution ... the way around of launching a solo game at least works!

I can't understand why this is occurring.

Same problem. I use Lotatc only, no other external programs.

The only solution is to launch a single player mode or a multiplayer mode without choosing a role and exit the mode.

After uninstalling lotact with configurator, everything is back to normal.

I also noticed this problem, since last update or installing the Polychop Kiowa, in the training missions theres no esc key so no way to exit at the end of the lesson, also in my own 'sandbox' missions flying the Kiowa the esc key is disabled but ther are no keymapping conflicts, I dont use SRS or Lotatc. The only way I can exit dcs is doing the old ctrl+alt+del.

i've pinned it down to a strange issue; Seems to be specifically the Kiowa. If I enter an instant action mission the esc key works fine, but I'm trying to reset some custom snap views (using the numpad keys) and as soon as Ive stored one, the esc key no longer works.

Yes, I get the same issue in SP missions, tutorials, quick starts, works ok at first but whenever I try to set custom snap views the esc key then no longer works. Result is ctrl+alt+del to close down and I never get the chance to save the custom snap views.

I'm sure I have had non-MP lockups before trying to change or set custom snap views, in fact I have not yet flown the Kiowa in a MP server.

[edit]: Got same issue in VR without touching snap view settings, I think thats a red herring.

Further issues with esc key not working - I jump into instant action - caucasus free flight, esc works at first, when i change any control seetings or keybinds then esc key no longer works?? I have to ctrl+alt+del to exit

It happens when I am after the update when the super carrier is in the game 

If I don't use the super carrier the escape key will work 

So I think it has something to do with the views from flight operations

Still getting problems with this issue, testing a mission from the mission editor - not even multiplayer, esc key stops working, have to do a ctrl+alt+del to exit DCS. Tried a slow repair, no joy. Was trying to reset some snap views again (in the Harrier).

Its really wierd, I jump into an instant action mission in the harrier, the snap views have ben reset after the last update, so I reset them, just mapping numkey buttons 7 and 9 to allow closer view of the left & right MFD's, then I find the ESC key no longer works.
