Do both F-16I mods EFM? is that Rafale which "sits" on M-2000C also? Thanks in advanced. Edited March 2, 2023 by VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants 1 1 I Fly, Therefore I Am. VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 To answer my own question, I can only find 3 helicopters claim to have EFM. Anyway, keep up to good work, everyone. WinterH Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 A-4, MB-339 (though it's about to release as a full module), VNAO T-45, VSN F-104, Edge 540 and Extra 330 by VARS/Grinelli, Hercules by Anubis (possibly also going full on module way), AH-6 EFM demo, CorsairCat A-6 EFM demo, UH-60L are the ones I know with an EFM. Also some of the currently SFM mods are apparently going to get EFMs later. 1 Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V DCS-Dismounts Script
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 For the 3 chopters I can find, you have got UH-60L, thank you. I find also the Chinnok(?) and the Bell one based on AH-6 Keep wondering if anyone could tell me if both F-16I and the Rafale by Split-Air are EFM or not. I Fly, Therefore I Am. Check of they have a .dll, typically in a sub-folder called "bin". You can also check the "make_flyable()" call within the entry.lua, the forth parameter needs to reference to the name of the .dll. 1

I haven't flown (or downloaded an update for ) the Edge 540, but I tried the Extra 330 just 2-3 weeks ago. It's fun, but it's anything but realistic, so I really doubt they use EFM. 1
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 (edited) According to this thread, at least the Edge 340 is EFM I dunno and cannot comment EFM == accurate. I have never flown these 2 IRL. I am sticking it on the list for the time being. 3 hours ago, Copprhead said: Check of they have a .dll, typically in a sub-folder called "bin". You can also check the "make_flyable()" call within the entry.lua, the forth parameter needs to reference to the name of the .dll. I dunno but the latest Su-30MK/SM series do have a bin subdirectory and name to a DLL. But iirc, the team says the EFM is not ready yet, so it is off the list for the time being. As for F-16I, I only have the LAHAK version installed and it basically inserts its additional files inside the original F-16C installation so I have a little doubt if it changes the FM at all. So technically, it is not EFM. Please correct me if I was wrong. I have yet to try and install the other version -- I am not sure if they can co-exist inside the F-16C installation or not. Please kindly update me with information. I have very little interest, if any, of the M-2000C. Personal preference I guess. So I cannot determine if the Split-sky mod of Rafale is more or less similar to the F-16I LAHAK. I am not buying the Mirage just to play a Rafale mod. Again, please kindly let me know the details. Thank you. Edited February 11, 2022 by VFGiPJP I Fly, Therefore I Am. One cannot go around not saying "Thank you" every time these days, can't you? EFM doesn't automatically mean it's realistic and even the SFM used by the AI can be more unrealistic than an EFM. EFM simply means that all forces and moments acting on the aircraft are calculated by the external code that was written by the module/mod developer. To get an aircraft that behaves somewhat realistic the EFM needs equations to handle lift, drag, side forces due to angle of attack, static stability, dynamic stability, post stall lift/drag, forces and moments due to control surface deflection, ... Thrust must be calculated, e.g. based on manifold pressure, rpm, shaft horsepower, propeller blade angle, propeller efficiency, ... But all that is up to the mod developer. 1

Open the entry.lua and search for the make_flyable(...) line. If the third parameter contais old=xx or nil it is not efm. (Old =xx being for f3c and nil for not using any f3c or efm) 1
cubanace Posted October 28, 2022 Posted October 28, 2022 (edited) The SU-57 also now has EFM and also thrust vectoring thanks to the EFM . Thrust vectoring preview upon take off. https://youtu.be/u_Kw3BUHIFI Edited October 30, 2022 by cubanace 3 SU-57 Discord https://discord.gg/ZANfjREg9p
