DCS Data Link between several F16

Hello

in DCS Data Link should work between several F16. without Awacs.

Now we were recently in a mission with 4 F16 and some wingman disappeared partially to completely in Data Link, although we were relatively close.
Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

The planes are high enough and there are no mountains in between, as you can also see here briefly in the video. The wingman plops in and out.

is that because of DCS or was something mismanaged in the server?

The F-16 D/L has been broken since release. I can't describe it better than yourself; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. This can change multiple times in a single flight and there is nothing you can do about it except pray that it will eventually get fixed.

next patch has lots of new and fixed features DL is mentioned about 4:16. keep you head on a swivel girls and boys...

Next update will only add something, not fix existing issues.

@skywalker22 While I agree there's an issue with the E3 blindspot. But that isn't related to the Link between aircraft without an E3 in the mix? All the aircraft in the link should contribute and should be able to see each other (Line of sight/range excluded obviously) without the need for an E3 correct?

Do you know the max distance between aircrafts so Link16 can still work?

Not only within F16, It's also intermittent with other datalink members like F18. Sometimes you can't see other members of the datalink flying very close to you, like 2nm. I don't know if it also happens with the F18.

One problem may be the datalink of the F16 and F18 is very slow, it updates every 12 seconds which is a lot.

up to 160nm.

Beyond that I have not tested it

IRL our F-16's L16 has a maximum transmission range of about 300nm. Reception range is dependent on the the AWACS maximum power output which I don't know what it is. I have no clue what these numbers are in DCS.
