It's supposed to flash, when the RWR detects an active radar guided missile signal. Is this not happening for you in DCS?

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Yes, there was an update. I wanted to give you some feedback but I couldn't find the right thread, so thank you for the ping.

Devs said that according to available documentation, the real AN/ALR-87 RWR was incomplete: both "Launch" light and "ACT/PWR" button were present but not operational.

I know this F-20 commercial video features what looks like the same device, with a working "Launch" light, and that was my main source when I reported this in the first place. The problem is, this video IS a commercial, it does not necessarily depicts the real product. Moreover, the F-20 being an evolution of the F-5, it could very well have an evolved RWR.

The DCS: F-5E manual already implies that some buttons are not operational, since they don't appear in the list:

It s strange that the F-5E-3 had the AN/ALR-87 RWR and its control panel with all options, but, some how, it was not used !!!!!!

There is any real F-5 pilot whom can enlighten us ?

@mayo25 It would have to be either a Swiss AF pilot or a USAF Aggressors pilot. I have never seen any RL pilots chiming in here on the forums. I tried to get in contact with any people involved with F-5E through a pilot working with demo teams attending international venues, no luck so far.

For what it's worth, the F-5N NATOPS includes this line regarding the AN/ALR-87, pages VIII-26-4 - VIII-26-5. I assume this is the devs' source for these keys not being functional.
