Engines wont start

Thanks for the reply...I havent messed with log files in ages, hopefully this is what we need.

My quick startup routine

-battery on

-apu cover up, apu start

-rshift home, ralt home

nothing from here...throttles move to idle visually, and my throttle binding still works visually...

Also, autostart does not work.

Thanks

I cant get either engine to start.  Autostart doesnt work either, and hangs up at "waiting for EGI".

I started my flying session by front seating another D, then tried to start one up.  Tried restarting and repairing - no luck.

Thanks

Add the track or better video (from YouTube?) what you do during startup process. No any bug here, you must do something wrong.

from 3:30...I hit ralt+home, rshift+home, and nothing.  Doing everything he does apart from MFDs...

Please give me a time stamp for "crank switch"

I cant remember how to post tracks, I will have to look that up if this doesnt help.

Never had any problems with starting the engines.

I guess you missed hitting the eng1 and eng2 start switches left to the throttle lever handles? the video you are refering shows how you have to hit them first….

3:15. But because it's an Apache and not a Hornet, the "Crank" switch is called engine start switch. So mistake on my side.

Thanks

The Apache cannot be started up from the CPG seat

If you come in the DCS Apache from previous experience in the Arma 2/3 Apache Project, probably you have to add to your procedure the 2 ENG Start Switch

Watch from 03:07. He even says "now its time to start the engines". Dont skip stuff when you try to learn something new.

Maybe next time as reference use this one:

or this:

Have fun

???? the apu is not a Switch Holding a period of time. It is just a Short Button press…….

there must be something different the issue……but anyway, good News it‘s working now.

Well, if you press it for too short (the button cannot be depressed all the way down), then it will not register it as pressed, so there's that.

Right its true, its not holding button but not too short click too. I press it and hold 1-2 sec too.

  • Solution

Ok, so just to be clear, I hadn't flown in a while and was mistakenly mixing up the engine start switches with the idle detent commands.  They are separate and have to be done sequentially, of course.

It wasnt about the APU switch...Like Corbu said, that isn't something you have to press and hold.

Thanks for the help my friends.

Mods feel free to delete this thread, I doubt it will cause anything but more confusion.
