FlankerFan35 Posted July 24, 2022 Posted July 24, 2022 This may have been addressed but haven't seen it so here I am. Would be great to see the EQ with its unique bits. Would also be awesome to see the S530F as it gives the aircraft the tools to fight Sparrow equipped adversaries and was uniquely used on the F1 if memory serves me. Thx. 4
Solution RG2021 Posted July 26, 2022 Solution Posted July 26, 2022 The S530F is planned already, and will be on all variants. All (or nearly all) documentation regarding the F1EQ was destroyed by Dassault. Plus, going to Iran to scan and model a real F1EQ will be unfeasible and unrealistic. I doubt Iran would want westerners coming in and simulating their plane, regardless of how old it is. Also, I doubt they’re original. I’m sure Iran has made some changes to their F1EQs. I would love an F1EQ, no doubt, since it’s by far the most appropriate variant for DCS, but it’s just not feasible. There’s no information available, and all the F1EQs are still in Iranian service. On the other hand, the South African F1AZ has plenty of information available online, there are various examples on display in museums, and they have a respectable combat record, much like the F1EQs. While it’s not multirole like the EQ, it is a dedicated ground attack variant with the radar removed, replaced by extra fuel, weapon computers, and a rangefinder. The AZ could carry fourteen 500lbs bombs, and deliver them very precisely, which could make for very fun missions in multiplayer. But I would love an F1EQ, with its highly advanced systems, wide array of weapons from various nations, external pods to perform quite literally any mission, and just for historical significance. Exocet, AS30L, AJ168 Martel, KH-29 Kedge (Russian missile), S530F, free fall bombs, etc. The F1EQ even had an aerial refueling pod, so they could refuel other F1EQs! It could do anything well. That is my number one wishlist aircraft, but it’s just not feasible. 6
1stBEAST Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 yeah an EQ would be pretty cool but the SAAF Variants would be as well 1
Major_Shepard Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 (edited) There are one F1-BQ and one F1-EQ6 that can be seen at Conservatoire de l'Air et de l'Espace d'Aquitaine, Bordeau-Merignac Airport, France. These planes belong to the very last batch of Mirage F1 that should have been delivered to Irak in the early 90's but were kept in France due to embargo. They served to train US pilots during Golf War period. https://www.caea.info/fr/la-collection/le-materiel/37-collection/avio-de-combat/515-mirage-f1eq https://www.caea.info/fr/la-collection/le-materiel/37-collection/avio-de-combat/195-dassault-mirage-f1-bq Edited July 27, 2022 by Major_Shepard 3
Fromthedeep Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 Did Aerges indicate that they would be interested in non Spanish variants once these are complete?

They did once say, at least a year or so ago, that they MAY consider further variants much later, once the planned variants are really done, and IF required information could be obtained. I wouldn't read too much into it to be perfectly honest. Once this module is done, I would honestly not mind getting a DCS: Mirage F1 Volume 2 with additional variants that could be simulated if enough info was found, like F1AZ, F1EQ5-6, maybe F1CT etc. But I don't know if that will be feasible, as in being able to get all the necessary docs and such. Especially the EQ was more or less the top Mirage F1 version before the much later MF2000 update for Morocco. 5 Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V DCS-Dismounts Script

Stratos Posted September 14, 2022 Posted September 14, 2022 I would gladly pay for an EQ! Exocets and AS.30L would be really fun! 6 I don't understand anything in russian except Davai Davai!

Actually funny you say that! Since writing my original piece in this thread, I actually emailed Aerges and let them know there was an EQ-6 in that museum and also that the EQ would be the absolute best, most significant, and most useful variant they could develop for DCS. They responded and said that they “will probably do that in the future.” 3

Major_Shepard Posted February 1, 2023 Posted February 1, 2023 It is a variant for Iraq of the ALTIS laser designator pod. 1

I simply love that old school stuff, that was high fidelity back then. EQ5/6 would be a dream, especially after accomplishing a deep strike mission with @Bremspropeller yesterday. 650nm round trip with low level attack run, short dogfight, no AAR, 800L to spare, just awesome this plane. 2 Alias in Discord: Mailman
