I just tried with the A-4E-C mod and Yes ! The bird sound amazingly, I forgot how great it was ! Thanks for the workaround while waiting the fix from the dev !

Couldn't resist and did the same, as it's just unpacking in the user's saved games folder and nothing else. Haven't heard the intended sound before in my installation an have to say, much better. Great!

Waiting for the fix, but as I'm mostly on stable, I can no have the intended F1 sounds there too. The sound volume difference when panning around the aircraft is also gone this way.

I also installed the A4 mod, which corrects the F1 sound - I wonder how little actually has to be done to correct the issue, until the OB patch at least, which is probably going to be released soon?

I literally just unzipped the A4 to the /saved games/DCS/mods folder, and checked to see that it showed up as an icon when DCS started, that's it. I never used the A4 at all. The Atar is then restored to all it's glory. I wonder if you just need to make an 'aircraft' folder under the mods folder?

Yes,  path is mods/aircraft/whatever mod goes here.

In the event of any problem, they always told us to uninstall all mods as a first step. Now placing a mod fixes things. 🙂
I hope that in today's update we have the solution, I refuse to install mods.

I had the same attitude (will not install mods, other than SRS), but all it took was unzipping the mod to the mods folder. I was just wondering if simply creating the 'aircraft' folder in the mods folder solved the problem, or something similar. I could of course experiment, but I'm being lazy 🙂 Especially as it should be fixed soon.

Yes, checked OB, where I did not install the A-4E mod and I had the ATAR sounds now.

I guess, this is fixed. Thanks.

@Flappie Regarding sound, I looked for ATAR in the normal DCS log and found these lines:

ERROR SOUND: invalid source_params(COCKPIT_2D:aircrafts/mirage-f1/cockpit/environment/buffet): gain
ERROR SOUND: invalid source_params(woLA-16802304:aircrafts/engines/snecma_atar/snecma_atar_comp_stall): gain
ERROR SOUND: invalid source_params(woLA-16802304:aircrafts/engines/snecma_atar/snecma_atar_med): gain
ERROR SOUND: invalid source_params(woLA-16802304:aircrafts/engines/snecma_atar/snecma_atar_low): gain

Couldn't hear anything strange, so don't know, if it's really a problem. Need to do a flight and should report separately, I guess as it's not related to the loss of sound.

Just today I was able to test DCS since the last update. The sound returned to normal. Now I can enjoy the power of the engine.
Thanks Flappie for so much dedication and helping to solve the problem.
