Currently there is no way to adjust the volume of cockpit warning sounds independently of other game sounds, and most of these sounds are too loud.

"But they're loud for a reason. They're loud in real life."

This is not real life. We are not professional pilots who are paid to work in an environment where hearing loss is acceptable. Some users may have misophonia or tinnitus.

For the comfort and protection of our ears, there needs to be a volume slider that allows adjustment of cockpit warning sounds independently of other game sounds.

I guess the biggest problem is RWR,

in Viper and Hornet and I can adjust volume of warning sounds, RWR for example, TACAN and ILS sounds too etc, in Apache I haven't tried but I guess there is a knob for that too. I checked FC3 SU25T and SU33 they both can adjust RWR volume.

Check in the manual of the plane you fly.

As stated in my opening post, I am talking about warning sounds that cannot be adjusted. If RWR can be adjusted in the cockpit, then that is not a problem. I am talking about AoA warnings, stall warnings, master caution warnings, etc. These cannot be adjusted in the cockpit, nor can they be adjusted independently in the game settings.

There is a "Helmet" slider in Audio Settings exactly for such sounds. Please try it

Will that slider work regardless of having the option "hear like in helmet" checked?

Cheers!

Unfortunately this does not isolate warning sounds. It also affects radios, ICS, RWR, MLS, VOR/ILS, TACAN, etc.

We need a slider that specifically adjusts volume of Master Caution, Betty, AoA warning, stall warning, RADALT (in other words, items that do not have volume knobs in the cockpit) without adjusting volume of other headset sounds.

Which module and sounds does not work ? In FA18 everything works, as I see

So you need a slider that will control the volume of some specific audio files? Specific for each plane? And we will have the Excel sheet with a few hundred rows for which sounds from which modules it will work? Are u sure you need it? It is quite simple right now in one slider. If smth doesn't work for this slider, than we need fix it, just for such case

F1CE. It reduces radio and RWR volume to the point you can barely hear it with cockpit volume knobs at max. When Radio and RWR are an acceptable volume, the Master Caution and AoA warning are about 125db (exaggeration, but it does cause a bit of physical pain for me).

I have already specifically listed the sounds which apply to all modules. Or we could just unencrypt the sound files so we can edit the gain values or .wav volume ourselves, like I've done with the F-14 to reduce the offensively loud radar altimeter, Jester ICS static, and stall warning.

As stated in the first post: We are not professional pilots who are paid to work in an environment where hearing loss is acceptable. Some users may have misophonia or tinnitus. For the sake of our hearing health and general accessibility, yes, it is needed. There have been complaints about the sound mixing in the F-14 and the F1CE, but it's fallen on deaf ears apparently. The F-14 was resovled by editing sound files. The F1CE cannot be resolved due to encryption of sound files.

It was my understanding that the volume sliders interaction with modules would be on ED's side, but this is not the case? Is the volume slider interaction dependent on the 3rd Party developer?

It seems you issue with the 3d Party Developer. F-14 and F1CE exactly. You should contact them and only they can fix it from their side.

From our side, the volume slider "Helmet" works correctly and it can control every sound the developer want.

Just to confirm, the way the "helmet" slider works is not standardized across 3rd party developers?

Its beyond  my knowledge, sorry. There are many contexts for the sounds. And the developer should know about it.

For the "Helmet" context we have HEADPHONES_CONTEXT. He should use it for such sounds
