This!!! Next step is dampers + stick extension. With that on board you should be rocking "stick with no springs or FF" trimming method like a boss! Let them just fix the Trim Disengage and you're golden.

Definitely getting better, flying with force trim release seems better, but still its flying like SAS off.  Other than the roll issues at higher speeds, and yaw damping (needs further tuning), and the force trim release dynamics, I think much better.  Hovering seems to be more closer to reality now

This has not occurred. From my understanding, the last 2.7 patch in September was the only instance when the flight model was updated and not in the changelog. I do remember making a comment in a separate thread in Bugs & Problems that sometimes things are missed in the changelog, but that it isn't intentional; not a deliberate effort to conceal changes.

Further, no flight model changes were made in last week's patch to 2.8, so I think there may be some placibo effect going on. Or maybe you all are just that good.

yeh, it must have been the different speeds at wich i was initialy testing, did fly it for 2 hours on a server today, and its indeed not much different, hope we get some changes soon tho!

also thanks for clarifying that its not a normal ocurance that the FM changes behind the changelog

Just a small note...

I noticed after the 2.8 update that my trim type setting in Apache options (and indeed all my "special" options...  like auto rudder and T/O assist in the warbirds) had been reset to the defaults and not the setting I had them set to.  Not sure if that was just mine or not :).

If you select "no springs and FFB" for pedals, it doesn't trim them, it just tells SCAS where you want your new center to be.
