ADHS Posted October 3, 2022 Posted October 3, 2022 (edited) Problem: S_EVENT_LAND, is ignoring Airplane(s) landing, while not Hellicopters. Description: Using world.addEventHandler() with no other code than a report Message. Tested with: Two KA-50 (clients) in small distance from airport and even far away from Airports. Whenever i took off and even instantly land in place, the S_EVENT_LAND, happens. Sometimes whenever i use Airplanes to land (at Airport), S_EVENT_LAND is not get it. Using AIs, i've noticed that Airplanes at 5-7nm distance from the Airport and in a straight line for landing(with "Landing" WP order), can trigger the S_EVENT_LAND event. Is this a bug ? If possible, i would like to have more details as i am not always land as usuall, or most of the times i have to emergency land with manouvers over the Airport. Thank you. toutenglisse Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 @ADHS Hi, you should post an example (.miz or .trk) so it is possible to take a look at it. 1
Flappie Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 @ADHS No need for crossposting. We need a track or at least a mission file, please. 2 ---
ADHS Posted October 12, 2022 Author Posted October 12, 2022 toutenglisse , Flappie Setting up a mission for you to see. I will upload it today. Democracy was already invented, while Scrat was eating oak fruits.
ADHS Posted October 12, 2022 Author Posted October 12, 2022 (edited) Mission : ADHS_S_LAND-Problem.miz Scripts : MIST_4_5_107.lua : _func(ADHS)_v104-221006_set.lua : ADHS_S_LAND-Problem.lua ..................................................................................... LARNACA airport is NEUTRAL. A RED KA-50 is heading to land there. Once landed, the S_EVENT_LAND will happen and it will trigger a RED Soldier to respawn and capture the airport. ..................................................................................... At this stage, as CLIENT: If you get the opposite KA-50 and land there, the S_EVENT_LAND will happen. But, if you get the opposite SU-27 and land there, the S_EVENT_LAND will NOT happen. Hense, it wont trigger your BLUE Soldier to respawn. And here comes that i've noticed a different behaviour of S_EVENT_LAND for Helicopters & Airplanes. Fly the mission and i will wait for your answers. Thank you. PS: I've setup two Scenarios to test both Coalitions: Scenario_1 for RED and Scenario_2 for BLUE. Plus, there is a switch to turn respawing on/off (SPWN) and another one that allow/not the respawned groups to stay alive after capturing the Airport (STAY). These are RADIO commands. toutenglisse Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 @ADHS and @Flappie : I see the "issue" both in the attached mission from previous post and from a clean mission (syria / caucasus and 2 FC3 planes : Mig29A and SU27). The "issue" is that the landing event doesn't fire when the airbase is not from the same coalition or neutral AND the aircraft is a FC3 module (only tested with 2). (landing event as visible in the debrief). All is OK with a Hornet for example (landing event fires whatever the base's coalition). It seems to be a bug. 1 1

It seems to be a bug. Hello, FC3: SU-27 used, because it's fast in loading. The truth is that haven't test with any other module, but if this is the reason, then each module it may or not be the (?). Looking forward to read and what Flappie has to say. Thank you for your reply. Edited October 12, 2022 by ADHS Democracy was already invented, while Scrat was eating oak fruits.
Solution Flappie Posted October 13, 2022 Solution Posted October 13, 2022 (edited) Thank you both very much. This looks like a bug indeed, since only a few aircraft are affected: Su-27 Su-33 A-10A F-15C MiG-29 I could not reproduce the bug when I landed on a neutral airbase: S_EVENT_LAND triggered as expected. For some reason, Su-25"A" is not affected. Issue reported. Edited October 13, 2022 by Flappie 1 ---

So it's an exclussive FC3 issue. I can understand as this is the oldest module. Thank you both, solution given. Democracy was already invented, while Scrat was eating oak fruits.
